A tag has been placed on Intellect - UK Technology Association, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hi there Intellecttechnology! I saw that you added a {{hangon}} tag to a page which you created, Intellect - UK Technology Association. This is good, but in the process you removed the tag requesting deletion under CSD G11. Even though there is a hangon on the page, the deletion template should remain there. But don't worry, this doesn't mean that the page is going to get deleted. Make sure you edit the talk page of the page nominated for deletion, located at Talk:Intellect - UK Technology Association, administrators will look at your reason why the page should remain before they decide what to do. Thanks - SDPatrolBot (talk) 13:35, 14 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your First Article!!!

[edit]

Hello!!!

Please make yourself familiar with WP:PROMO and WP:CORP. It will give you an idea about what kind of articles, related to companies and organizations, are accepted at Wikipedia. Feel free to ask question at my talk page.

Regards,

A tag has been placed on Intellect uk requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies.

Username problem

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because: It is the name of a company whose article you are creating. If, after reviewing that policy, you believe your username does not violate policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you can file for a change of username, or you can simply create a new account and start using that one instead. Thank you. Pmlineditor  Talk 11:29, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

First off, welcome. Second, choosing a username that matches the name of a company you then create an article for as your first edit is a sure way to get the article deleted and yourself banned. But do not fear - there is help.

For now, you article is not going anywhere. Walk around a bit and see how wiki-code is written. Copy and paste styles from other pages. Make a few small edits. Read pages of other companies and see how they establish notability.

I've put a few links on the article talk page that may help you establish notability for your org. If you have a press file, you can also establish notability from printed articles.

Keep in mind - a wikipedia article should be comprised of what you would know if you had only read about the org in the newspapers or heard about it on TV. With that as your guideline, please remember to source your facts and you'll be fine. Joe407 (talk) 11:56, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This account, Intellecttechnology, has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because your username does not meet our username policy. This block is only regarding your username—it is not a judgment of either you personally or your contributions.

Names should not be offensive, disruptive, promotional, misleading, or related to a "real-world" group or organization. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

Please choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. However, do not create a new account if you wish to credit your existing contributions to a new name through a username change. To request a username change:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to edit this talk page even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a list of names that have already been taken. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Cirt (talk) 21:13, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
