Take a pause, please

I'm going to ask you to take a pause in your editing to consider a few suggestions.

1. Please read the above welcome message, and all of its linked articles about how to successfully contribute to Wikipedia.
2. When adding material that references a specific source, it is not helpful to introduce your paragraph with a sentence like The paper<ref>...Text of reference...</ref> introduces a method... because this then produces for the reader the rather nonsensical text The paper^{[1] introduces a method...} The reader is left wondering if they had missed an earlier reference to "the paper". Instead, structure the sentence along these lines: Jones and Smith<ref>...Text of reference...</ref> have introduced a method... which then produces Jones and Smith^[1] have introduced a method... This is a more sensible English sentence.
3. Your additions appear to be about speculative methods that have been introduced in a single paper or textbook chapter but have not yet been proven in practice. Wikipedia tends not to deal in speculative practices, but rather with describing the practices that are in common widespread use.

At the very least, I recommend that you discuss the additions you would like to make on various article at those articles' respective talk pages to gain consensus regarding the additions. WikiDan61^ChatMe!_ReadMe!! 15:12, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

Hello, IntelligentAgent300. We welcome your contributions, but it appears as if your primary purpose on Wikipedia is to add citations to research published by a small group of researchers.

Scientific articles should mainly reference review articles to ensure that the information added is trusted by the scientific community.

Editing in this way is also a violation of the policy against using Wikipedia for promotion and is a form of conflict of interest in Wikipedia – please see WP:SELFCITE and WP:MEDCOI. The editing community considers excessive self-citing to be a form of spamming on Wikipedia (WP:REFSPAM) and the edits will be reviewed and the citations removed where it was not appropriate to add them.

Finally, please be aware that the editing community highly values expert contributors – please see WP:EXPERT. I do hope you will consider contributing more broadly. If you wish to contribute, please first consider citing review articles written by other researchers in your field and which are already highly cited in the literature. If you wish to cite your own research, please start a new thread on the article talk page and add {{requestedit}} to ask a volunteer to review whether or not the citation should be added.
