Why?

Why did you delete saracens hertfordshire cricket league? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Paxo89 (talkcontribs)

The article made no assertion of importance or notability. It was an article about a league of amateurs. IrishGuy talk 22:14, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Hardly, do any research on the league, it applies to thousands of people, how can it be of no importance? Some clubs in the very top leagues pay their players anyway. Oh no, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sawbridgeworth_Cricket_Club this team plays in the league? Your policies on the importance of articles seem a bit confused. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Paxo89 (talkcontribs)

Actually, I'm not confused. Your example has a very big "notability" tag at the top because it isn't notable. How is that a good argument for the inclusion of your article? IrishGuy talk 22:35, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Deleted Articles

Hi. I noticed you deleted two of my articles, the reason you stated was that they were "attack articles". I tried where possible to conform to NPOV, but in both instances, the articles if anything sway towards describing both characters in a very positive light. As such, I would like to know why you deleted them. For the time being I shall assume in good faith that it was accidental rather than malicious on your part, and so will be recreating both articles.--Professor Hamish Ross 23:48, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

They were attack articles. Should you continue to recreate them, you will be blocked. IrishGuy talk 23:48, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Have you even bothered reading them? They are not attack pages. Stop being such a dick.--Professor Hamish Ross 23:53, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Enjoy your block. IrishGuy talk 23:54, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Why are you being such a twat?--84.65.199.202 23:56, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

can someone strip this guy of his admin priviliges please, he is abusing them. Thanks--84.65.199.202 23:57, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

There should be a discussion on that, but I don't know how or where to start it. Randomfrenchie 00:52, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

You are agreeing with an indefinitely blocked user. IrishGuy talk 00:53, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

That is definitely too harsh of a punishment. He/She was just trying to positively contribute to Wikipedia by adding articles. The more factual and non-redundant articles on Wikipedia, the better.

You are banning that user based on a personal grudge that you have aquired against him. Randomfrenchie 01:34, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

No, you have no idea what those articles stated. Others tagged them, I deleted them. That user was in no way attempting to positively contribute. That user is also most like a sock of Hamish Ross' Boyfriend who created the same attacks. Please don't make accusations when you don't have all the evidence at hand. IrishGuy talk 01:40, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Hah

I was just about to mark that page for speedy deletion, the one which you deleted, but when I pressed edit it was already gone. Cheers. --Concordia 23:52, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

Max Dirt Bike

Hi. I would like clarification on why you immediately delted the Max Dirt Bike article. I believe the more factual and non-redundant articles on Wikipedia, the better. There was no benefit for anyone of deleting that article. Looking at your talk page, I think that you delete too many articles. You said 'A7 web' in your edit summary. I do not know what this meens I think the article should stay. Please get back to me. Randomfrenchie 00:49, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Deletion criteria can be found at WP:SPEEDY. A7 is an article about a person, group, company, or website that does not assert the importance of the subject. An online game found on a website isn't encyclopedic. IrishGuy talk 00:51, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Help Desk

I didn't know that it was the same user who was making edits as an anonymous IP, but I agree with him. I also think that you reply to comments very bluntly and without compassion. Even so, I must admit I was impressed by how quickly you replied to my question in the Help Desk. When I read your reply, I laughed. I wasn't laughing at you, but more at the fact that you caught me, in a way. Oh well. 01:15, 2 April 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Randomfrenchie (talkcontribs)

Many people who have their articles deleted immediately want the admin removed. That is pretty much par for the course. As for me being blunt...when someone has been warned repeatedly and carries on and calls me a dick, I don't feel the need to bend over backwards. IrishGuy talk 01:20, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

More than welcome

You're more than welcome. I've been an administrator on a forum before, and dealing with people who like to cause trouble is by far one of the hardest jobs. I was about to tag several of the articles you deleted, and completely agree with your reasoning for your actions.

Keep up the good work. :-) Hersfold (talk/work) 01:30, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Thank you very much. :) IrishGuy talk 01:31, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks!

Hi. I want to thank you for your recent help with limiting attacks against me. I'm very concerned that the user you addressed, in addition to attacking me and others and pushing his POV on talk pages, also has a long history of POV-pushing within articles in a way that is particularly insidious. The issue is serious and not limited to that user, and I'd greatly appreciate some advice on how to handle it. I feel myself approaching another one of those "fed up with Wikipedia" periods. Also, a more specific question---would you agree it is appropriate for me to delete the labeling and personal attacks from article talk pages? Thanks much! Gnixon 01:47, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

While personal attacks can be removed, I would think it would be best if you didn't do it yourself. Obviously the two of you are clashing a great deal and it will only inflame things more if you remove/alter those comments. A third party should probably get involved. Have you thought about trying WP:DR? That might be a good step. IrishGuy talk 01:51, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Good points. As I mentioned somewhere, I'm particularly concerned about sort of "defamation of character" issues. I don't have the energy or the desire to spend time countering the bias against me that his comments will likely inspire. I'd really like to get rid of the labels. Gnixon 02:18, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
I don't think he is going to stop. Even when I warned him, he didn't seem to take it seriously. WP:DR might be the best option. IrishGuy talk 02:19, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Regarding WP:DR, I'm pretty sure I've lost all faith that this editor could end up being a net positive for Wikipedia, so I don't know if it's really appropriate. (Wrote that before your most recent comment. I may need to read up on what WP:DR encompasses.) Gnixon 02:22, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey -- I just declined Wikifect's request for unblock. However, it was pretty hard for me to figure out the connections between the various accounts, and the only hint left behind was "as established by the user's contributions". You've obviously got a handle on this sockpuppeteer's contributions, so next time, could you please make things a little more clear? Thanks! Mangojuicetalk 14:08, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

I had nothing to do with either of those being blocked, I merely denied unblocking. Wikitiful tried to undelete the article that Worthadonkey and his various other socks continually recreated. Wikifect I denied unblocking on the basis that he was warned even though he claimed that he didn't know what he was doing was wrong. I have no idea why he was labeled a sock other than the similarity in names. IrishGuy talk 17:10, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Ah, you're right, it was Yamla who put the sockpuppet tag up. I'll go remind him. Sorry -- I saw your name on denied unblock requests from all the other accounts and figured you were involved in the situation. Mangojuicetalk 02:46, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Suggested (re-)deletions

I saw the Help Desk problem and decided to look into it… seems some of your old deletions have come back from the grave:

I suggest deleting and blocking these pages. − Twas Now ( talkcontribse-mail ) 14:43, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Article Removed

YOU SAID: "Please do not violate Wikipedia policy by introducing inappropriate pages to Wikipedia. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you"

I do not believe my article on the Fitch and Jove cartoon series was the least bit "inappropriate". I was not "experimenting", the fact that you would condescend me like that really annoys me. I spent some time on that article only for it to be deleted by you. I am assuming you didn't examine the article very well.

-KwikToon

It is a template message, it isn't meant to be condescending. The article began by stating that the cartoon was "underrated". Four more sentences about downloading the cartoons and purchasing mechandise from Cafe press. Two external links to download the cartoons. There was nothing notable about the subject. It was an advertisement for a non-notable cartoon. IrishGuy talk 20:29, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Stating so in the first place would have been appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by KwikToon (talkcontribs)

Please read WP:SPEEDY. When an article meets CSD criteria, the author doesn't need to be notified first. IrishGuy talk 20:48, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

ross blanchflower

Just wondering how I go about retrieving the article which you so kindly deleted. It was a working title, and references and sources had not yet been cited. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yngwie lunchbox (talkcontribs)

Um...no. There is no way I am restoring an attack article that begun with "After a vote taken by Time magazine in 2006, it emerged, however unlikely it may sound, that Ross is the biggest tool ever". Please don't create attack article like that. IrishGuy talk 23:05, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Request

Can you please protect my Userpage, if possible? I wouldn't want anyone editing or toying with it. Thanks, Giggles Talk 23:46, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Has there been vandalism to your userpage? Why are you requesting protection? IrishGuy talk 23:50, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Hit the Switch

I don't think it was reasonable to delete my article on "Hit The Switch" and I think you need to do a better job. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Endlesst0m (talkcontribs)

Please read WP:BAND and WP:NOTE. The article was about a non-notable band. IrishGuy talk 00:55, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

No it wasn't IrishGuy. You don't know what you're talking about. Every other band on the label that "Hit The Switch" is on (Nitro Records) has a Wikipedia page. You can tell me that this is a non-notable band, but then you should be responsible for telling me why other bands on that label ARE "notable". This sort of random inconsistency makes me think that you aren't doing a very good job.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.46.40.206 (talkcontribs)

There was no asserion of importance in the article. A quick look at Nitro Records shows that it isn't true that every other band has a Wikipedia article. IrishGuy talk 01:17, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

A grand total of TWO bands, that have been defunct for YEARS don't have pages. For this reason, I think that it is foolish to compare Hit The Switch to these bands, which is what you seem to be doing to justify your decision. I remain very displeased with your decision, and also feel as though you have neglected to adressed my "random inconsistency" argument. If you can explain why "Much The Same" and "No Trigger" have Wikipedia pages, then I will cease this argument.

Hint:If you aren't particularly knowledgeable in a certain area, give the benefiet of the doubt.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.46.40.206 (talkcontribs)

Actually, there are four redlinks. Please read WP:CIV before commenting on this page again. Your argument doesn't hold water. If an article exists that shouldn't, it doesn't mean five more should be allowed because that first one hasn't been deleted yet. IrishGuy talk 01:36, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

I read everything that seemed relevant in the link you provided.

I believe it is your argument that 'just because 5 articles that should be deleted exist doesn't mean that another one should exist also' doesn't hold water. You present this argument as if it is undeniable fact that the other articles I mentioned should be deleted. However, the reality of it these articles DO have every right to exist, and so does the article on Hit the Switch. Disagree with the previous statement? Then prove me otherwise. You either can't or have refused to attempt to prove otherwise. Your arguments are slightly specific, but you are ignoring valid questions I have brought up, which still makes me confident that you are at fault here.

Basically, you still haven't assesed the inconsistencies in a way that truly makes sense and is backed by actual knowledge. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.46.40.206 (talkcontribs)

You either didn't read the links or you choose to dismiss them. There is nothing civil in the way you are speaking to me. I don't have to justify anything to you, no matter how rude you continue to be. But if it will make you go away and stop harassing me, here it goes:
Hit the Switch produced their own album. Nice, but that doesn't meet WP:BAND. They are working on another album. Also nice, but wikipedia is not a crystal ball.
WP:BAND is quite clear on the criteria for inclusion:
  1. Has had a charted hit on any national music chart.
  2. Has had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country.
  3. Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one large or medium-sized country, reported in reliable sources.
  4. Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable).
  5. Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such.
  6. Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability.
  7. Has won a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno or Mercury award.
  8. Has won or placed in a major music competition.
  9. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show. (But if this is the only claim, it is probably more appropriate to have a mention in the main article and redirect to that page.)
  10. Has been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network.
  11. Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast on a national radio or TV network
Hit the Switch doesn't meet any of those. IrishGuy talk 02:00, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Alright, I'm done. But the inconsistency STILL annoys me, and I can't even fathom how you consider me "rude".—Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.46.40.206 (talkcontribs)

Are you kidding?
You don't know what you're talking about...This sort of random inconsistency makes me think that you aren't doing a very good job.
Hint:If you aren't particularly knowledgeable in a certain area, give the benefiet of the doubt.
...you still haven't assesed the inconsistencies in a way that truly makes sense and is backed by actual knowledge
All of those either outright call me dumb or not-so-subtly allude to it. If those comments aren't rude, I would be interested to know what your definition of rude might be. IrishGuy talk 02:09, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

"Are you kidding"... A phrase that implies that ones argument is so stupid that it is in question wether they were serious or not.

So it's okay for you to speak this way? Honestly, it doesn't bother me that you said that to me, becuase unlike you, I'm not ultra-sensitive about phrases that could barely and I mean BARLEY...be classified as rude. "You don't know what you're talking about" was the only legitimatley rude thing that I said, and event that wasn't a big deal.

Basically, stop crying.

Yes, that WAS rude, because I don't care anymore. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.46.40.206 (talkcontribs)

"Are you kidding?" was a legitimate question. I didn't know if you honestly didn't realize you were being rude, or if you just plain didn't care. Based on your follow up comment, I will assume you just didn't care.
I'm not ultra-sensitive and personal attacks from an angry user who had his article deleted are pretty common. I simply pointed out how incredibly incivil you were being. And you continue to be that way now. For future reference, being incredibly rude to the admin that deleted your article probably isn't the best way to make progress with a complaint. IrishGuy talk 02:26, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Re:

Hi is there a specific time for the warnings or? common sense not sure thanks. Lakers 01:07, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Warnings should be close to the time of the vandalism. 24 hours would be the absolute most, especially when dealing with IP addresses. The IP might have various users so the past notices wouldn't apply to the newest user. IrishGuy talk 01:09, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Oh I see thanks for the advice. Lakers 01:22, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
No problem at all. :) IrishGuy talk 01:23, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey

Did u just delete the page i made about myself? Jason H______? I dont want to pu my whole last name. Jasonoandtasha 01:19, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Yes. Please read WP:COI and WP:NOTE. IrishGuy talk

Well

Lots of famous people have their own page, and the thing said it is NOT synonymous to fame, so I think I should be able to have my own part of wikipedia. Anyway, who are you to delete stuff about myself? You said people kept deleting your page so why dont you stop deleting mine? Unless there is something I dont know, that is very hippocratic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jasonoandtasha (talkcontribs)

Fame, not necessarily. Notability, yes. The conflict of interest guidelines also make it clear that you shouldn't write articles about yourself. I have never said someone deleted by article because I don't have an article. As for who I am to delete this stuff, I am an admin. IrishGuy talk 02:36, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

so

what are the disadvantages to wikipedia to me having a page about myself? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jasonoandtasha (talkcontribs)

What would be the advantage? The article itself stated: Jason is an average teenager at the time this article was written by himself. How is that encyclopedic? IrishGuy talk 02:41, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Because

What if someone wonders who Jason H______ is? If you tell me why there is a disadvantage I will leave you alone but if there are none, then what's the problem? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jasonoandtasha (talkcontribs) 02:46, 3 April 2007 (UTC).

This is an encyclopedia, not MySpace. There is policy on criteria for inclusion and your article doesn't meet it. Again, please read WP:COI, WP:BIO, and WP:NOTE. IrishGuy talk 03:03, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Please re-delete the article and protect it. Thanks, Jerry 03:18, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

hello!

what are the setbacks to wikipedia that I post something that won't bother anyonethat the Info. is there? I dont want to know the rule, I want to know why there is the rule because if it doesnt inconvenience wikipedia then they should leave it alone and let me feel good. Tell me why they would be inconvenienced by a tiny bit of knowledge out there —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jasonoandtasha (talkcontribs) 03:58, 3 April 2007 (UTC).

Because this is an encyclopedia, not a social networking site like MySpace nor is it a webspace provider like Geocities. IrishGuy talk 20:18, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Explain to me

You deleted the page that I worked long and hard on for the power metal band Nekrogoblikon. I'm just curious as to what the reasons for this were. The band is a well known band in the genre, they have a CD released, they play numerous shows and to many they're known as revolutionizing many of the genres that they encompass. I'm wondering what horrible attrocity they committed against wikipedia that they were deemed unworthy to grace it's pages. I don't understand what advantage it provides wikipedia to delete a page that someone has worked long and hard to gather the info for (especially when I had great difficulty figuring out how to use your editing system). Now if someone wants to know about Nekrogoblikon or their CD release Goblin Island (which I also created a page for) they can't use wikipedia. By deleting valid and well put together entries you're devalueing your entire website and very idea of a free all-emcompassing encyclopedia. Please explain. JamesMarshall 12:06, 3 April 2007

I deleted a page about a non-notable band that had been continually deleted and recreated. The article was deleted nine times. The band is a MySpace band that has self-released one album. IrishGuy talk 17:19, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

LinkNet

Why did you remove the LinkNet IRC network as an advertisement (G11 Advert)? As you can check, there are more than 15000 simultaneous users. There are lot of smaller networks in Category:IRC networks. --Zzzzzzzzzz 12:28, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Because it was written as an advertisement. IrishGuy talk 17:19, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Save me the trouble.

I am putting a lot of time into it ... The guidelines say that noteability is not subjective. I think Bill Still is an important American and I support his ideas on monetary reform.

IE, I think it's REALLY notable.

My question is, before I put another four hours into it ... do you think Bill Still will ever be "noteable" in Wikipedia's eyes? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Senatorj777 (talkcontribs)

Does he meet the criteria at WP:BIO? More information can be found at WP:NOTE as well. IrishGuy talk 19:02, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Deleted Blerds article

Hello! Noticed that you deleted an article on "Blerds". While the article did not state why they are notable a request to add such information would have been heeded and the information added. "Blerds" is a comedy group based out of the Chicago area that are well known within Chicago and have an internet following. Several of the members have been accepted into Aspen 2007, one member is starring on TV, and they're showcased in the DC comedy festival. It seems that they are notable. Could you provide additional insight as to why the page was deleted and how it may be added back again?

Thank you for your time and efforts, much appreciated. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Oo7tushar (talkcontribs) 20:59, 3 April 2007 (UTC).

The main article, Blerds was deleted five times by Circeus. I deleted the alternate version at Blerds.com. The version I deleted didn't outline notability. You can always try WP:DRV to review the deletion. IrishGuy talk 21:04, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
Thank you, much appreciated. Oo7tushar 06:50, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey

You recently deleted my contribution for Consumer Cowboy. How can I possibly write this submission without it being considered an advertisement.

My last submission was the story of how it came to be. I see lots of other company based submissions like this that do not get deleted... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chornak (talkcontribs)

Actually, many do. The ones that don't illustrate notability. Please read WP:NOTE, WP:CORP, and WP:WEB. IrishGuy talk 22:08, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Aluminum Fence

You recently deleted a page I created about aluminum fence. What was it about the page that seemed to violate policy? I was just creating a page similar to chain link fencing for aluminum fence which is a popular material for fencing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fencetown (talkcontribs)

It was a copyright violation of http://www.fencetown.com/content/How-To-Install-Fencing.asp and that is why it was deleted. IrishGuy talk 22:58, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

I wrote that install guide myself when i worked at fencetown.com. They will not post the guide on their site, so I decided to post it here. Is that a violation of your policy? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fencetown (talkcontribs)

Please read WP:COPY for information about copyright policy. IrishGuy talk 23:53, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

Can you follow up on this one. I have d/l a few of their works from the Internet Archive so I'm a bit biased. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 01:47, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Oh...tough one. They might very well be notable, but being authored by a member of the company is a serious conflict of interest. Which way are you leaning? IrishGuy talk 01:50, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Towards keep because of this. It's a good quality video and "commisioned by Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios/The Lego Group". CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 01:53, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
I've seen their LEGO Camelot on the Monty Python and the Holy Grail DVD. Funny. That should give them notability...but I still don't like the WP:COI thing. We've both seen their work so I don't think that puts either of us in an awkward position to judge. You have no conflict of interest simply having seen their stuff on the Internet Archive. If you think it should stay, go ahead and pull the tag. I'm leaning that way myself. IrishGuy talk 01:57, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. Done that. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 02:10, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Deleted a work in progress - suggestion?

Hello Irishguy,

I'm (obviously) brand new to this, so I'd appreciate some advice. I'm trying to submit a new article, on "Lisa Mc Sherry." I'm not her friend, she's a published author and an authority in her (admittedly quite specific) field of cyber-paganism. She is cited in other published books and in respected pagan journals, all of which I'll cite in the article. However, you speedy-deleted the article I was working on. I think it was just because I saved my work before it was finished and it looked un-notable, but I want to make sure that it's ok to post before I try submitting it again.

I've searched Wikipedia and read the policies on notability and on biographies of living people. As far as I can tell she'll fit the bill - she's not world-famous, but within a not-negligible population she's a respected voice. Is this going to fly?

Thanks for your attention,

~Pitchwife

If you can provide sources, feel free to submit it again. IrishGuy talk 01:57, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Stop it

I would greatly appreciate if you would stop trolling my updates deleting pages I work on. Your point about the Nekrogoblikon page being recreated 9 times only served to prove my point. If that many people felt that it was important enough to be a page on wikipedia, then that in itself proves that it is. I would appreciate you finding a better use of your time than removing every article I go to the effort to write. JamesMarshall 9:19, 3 April 2007

They were all recreated by you...so your argument doesn't hold much water. If you stop creating non-notable articles, they won't be deleted. IrishGuy talk 08:42, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

I was creating an article on my soon-to-be-published book, and when I saved it and returned to expand it further I found that you'd deleted it. What's up with that? I may be new, and have no experience at this, but the heading said it was under construction. Juranas 20:19, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

It was a blatant advertisement and as such it fell under the criteria for speedy deletion. Please don't attempt to use wikipedia to advertise yourself/your products. IrishGuy talk 20:20, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

The delta rags

this page has existed over 1 year. as shown here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log/delete&page=The_delta_rags

why do you continue to remove the page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Youknowstone (talkcontribs)

No...that shows that it has been deleted numerous times because it doesn't belong here. You have been recreating it since April of 2006. Stop. IrishGuy talk 21:16, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

the delta rags

other users will continue this article if you would stop deleting it. the info was first added to wiki in april of last year, only to be removed 2 months ago improperly. I am replacing known information. You should not remove an article about a subject you don't personally know about. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Youknowstone (talkcontribs)

Nope. The block log shows that every single time you have created this, it was deleted A7 band. The article has never lasted more than a few minutes. Please don't be dishonest to try and keep this non-notable band. IrishGuy talk 21:19, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

there are thousands of bands listed on wikipedia, why do you believe this band does not belong in wikipedia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Youknowstone (talkcontribs)

Because it doesn't meet the criteria for inclusion. You know this. You have known it for a year. If you recreate it again, you will be blocked. Please read WP:BAND for more information. IrishGuy talk 21:21, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

the page was untouched from the 15th of April 2006 to the 10th of February 2007, more than just a few minutes. the band is notable, and deserves to be noted here. i will continue the article, i have the right to.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Youknowstone (talkcontribs)

That incarnation of the article was a broken redirect. I have warned you enough. Stop. IrishGuy talk 21:26, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

maybe you should stop. did you ever stop and think, all these articles must start somewhere... stop being so authoritative. it takes more than 5 minutes to put together reliable information. how can a band the has recorded over 50 tracks and toured the country twice in the past 2 years not be notable. so you may not be a fan of the music recorded, why dont you delete http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Heathens while you are at it —Preceding unsigned comment added by Youknowstone (talkcontribs)

Obviously, you have had a year to create a verifiably sourced article. It hasn't happened yet. Again, please read WP:BAND. IrishGuy talk 21:37, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism

Wow, this guy must have really made you mad!! KeybladeSephi (Talk) (Contributions) 23:25, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

this is not me, i never posted anything, or deleted, etc. sorry 1liberator 04:12, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

OK...65.8.104.213 originally posted that and then you arrived a few minutes later and signed it. 65.8.104.213 most assuredly did engage in vandalism [2] [3] [4] and that is where the warning came from. IrishGuy talk 04:33, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

You're not Listening

None of the recreations of Nekrogoblikon were by me. You're not listening to anything I'm saying at all. I was asking you to stop personally attacking my contributions. You don't consider the bands that I'm trying to add to be notable because you don't listen to the music that they create and the genres that they are a part of. How can you claim to know their notability? Especially the last band that i added, Thy Catafalque, they are a hungarian band and thus their music has not travelled far outside of hungary, but they have released three full length masterpiece CDs. How can you claim that that isn't enough of an accomplishment to warrant being included?—Preceding unsigned comment added by JamesMarshall (talkcontribs)

Please read WP:BAND. It isn't about my opinion, nor is it about yours. It is about meeting the Wikipedia criteria for inclusion. IrishGuy talk 17:43, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
If none of the recreations were by you (which is nonsense because I deleted one of the recreations done by your username) then how is it that your version was word for word identical to past versions of the article? Coincidence? IrishGuy talk 18:06, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

CIVILITY

Fair enough; I believe strongly in civility and I always try to be civil but we are all human and have our limitations.

Are you also going to let User:Vintagekits know that it is very uncivil to constantly assail the motives of anyone who votes against something he supports on an AFD, for verbally abusing other editors, constantly demanding apologies, attacking the dead (Norman Stronge, murdered by the PIRA), and myriad other instances of attacking and uncivil behavior (just peruse his talk/discussion page).

I will try to ensure that I remain civil at all times, even though it is going to mean filing a lot of complaints at WP:AN/I.

Yours, Jill Teed 00:38, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

IP vandal

I unfortunately had to step away from the internet for a search committee meeting, so I haven't been on for several hours. But I think physicq reported the incidents to the ISP. Natalie 01:22, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Pillar Data Systems

Please roll back to April 5th version of Pillar Data Systems. The wikipedia page has been up for some time and I was just trying to update it. I will write a new copy without advert content. Thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Datastorage (talkcontribs) 22:48, 6 April 2007 (UTC).

Error

I removed a vandal posting by another user. I did not remove any relevant information. Perhaps you should check what you are doing before saying something. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.139.113.142 (talkcontribs)

Yes, that was a mistake on my part. It was quickly fixed, but I forgot to remove the warning template. I apologize for that. IrishGuy talk 23:55, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

deletion on wing ding article

Myself and others are in the process of making the Wing Ding article conform to Wikipedia's standards. We are gathering info on previous concerts to add historical background to the article. I was actually adding references when you deleted the article. Is there any way to keep this article on wiki? Redcard2k6 01:24, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

It is an advertisement for a non-notable local event. Not likely. IrishGuy talk 01:29, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Why erase links?

You have erased links to fan pages in certain articles. I'd like to know why. Is it a Wikipedia Policy? These links often contain more information than the official pages, which in many cases, have not been updated in months, or even years. Why to deprive fans from these sources? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 148.240.58.183 (talk) 04:33, 8 April 2007 (UTC).

The Golfer Infobox

Thanks for adding it to Phil Mickelson's page. The "Major Championship results" section is not only meant for wins, but for the player's best result in each major (similar to the tennis infobox). I added it in for his page, and thanks once again. Supertigerman 22:16, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Craig Mullins (II)

You may, or may not know a lot of facts about the Lovecraftian cinematic world of short films. But Craig Mullins of www.unfilmable.com is one of the true supporters and contributors to it, and is of great interest for the rest of us. In that sphere of course, where I think you're not a part of.

I thought wikipedia had people (in this case; the entertainment industri) of, more or less importance, and credibility. Sometimes your deletions feels a bit odd.

Hmm... Maybe we should rename this place to Irishpedia.

/Robert

P.S. By the way, why speedy? Shouldn't their be a period of discussion in this case, before deleting. D.S. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Zweiunt (talkcontribs) 00:46, 9 April 2007 (UTC).

Please read WP:CIV. After that, you can read the guidelines on Speedy Deletions which state that the policy governs the limited cases where administrators may delete Wikipedia pages or media "on sight" without further debate. The article fell under the A7 category: article about a person, group, company, or website that does not assert the importance of the subject. His credits include "assistant animator" and he directed a non-notable 8 minute film. IrishGuy talk 00:53, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

I'm not a child. But if you wanna play that game. Please read WP:DR and WP:DRV. When You don't know all the facts, you shouldn't erase articles so quickly. One admin was taging Craig Mullins (II) with a discussion-tag, so others could fill in more info. Craig Mullins (II) may even be more notable than all your closeup magicians put together. His so called non-notable 8 minute film "Read me a Story" has been shown on film festivals all over the world. Here are some of them; MiskatoniCon, a horror-fest in Stockholm, Sweden 2006, a Night of Horror in Sidney, Australia last weekend. BlueNovember MicroFilmFestival Stage III in Oklahoma, H.P.L.Filmfestval in Portland 2005, Graveyard Smash Film Festival in Wooster, Ohio 2006. So please, let people fill in the blanks, you know nothing about. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zweiunt (talkcontribs)

Actually, it was tagged with a speedy deletion tag. I guess you decided to go ahead and not read WP:CIV. Please take a moment to read it before using this talk page again. IrishGuy talk 02:45, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Please answer, instead of dodging bullett. About the deletion-tag, my bad. But I didn't have time to put a Hangon-notification-tag on it, because you deleted it so fast. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zweiunt (talkcontribs)

Deleted too fast? It was deleted literally hours after the tag was applied. Beyond that, you made an edit to the article ten minutes after the tag was applied. How did you not have time to place a hangon tag? I have outlined everything above. Should you choose to disagree with it, that is your perogative. As noted previously, it fell under A7 which states: ''article about a person, group, company, or website that does not assert the importance of the subject. Also, been shown at various festivals doesn't denote importance. Winning at a festival might. Regardless, none of that was in the article so it is irrelevant. IrishGuy talk 02:58, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Unlike you, I'm not here 24/7 and being a nit-pic about WP:CIV. By the way, good to see there's a bit of anger in that IrishGuy fasade. And yes, I disagree! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zweiunt (talkcontribs)

Of course you disagree. Your article was deleted. Don't confuse annoyance with anger. I have already given you links and quoted the appropriate parts of those links and yet you continue to claim I haven't given you reason. When people make me repeat myself it gets annoying. I'm not angry with you. Not at all. Truly. :) IrishGuy talk 03:48, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
