Hi there. You recently added information to the above article that this figure's birthdate was July 12, 1474, and giving as the source:

Luna, D. Marco A. (1939). Leyendas Mexicanas. Mexico D.F

I have been unable to identify in the usual catalogues or thru a general search, any reference to a book of this title by an author of that name. Possibly, either the author's or the work's name is something different to what was supplied. Or possibly I've missed it so far. It would be appreciated if you could (say on the article's talk page) provide any further info you have about the author & the work so that the reference can be validated and corrected if needs be.

Also, if you do have that work and it does mention that birthdate then I'd be curious whether it gives any primary source for that piece of information. Given that there's an acknowledged total lack of contemporary documentation for this figure, and given that AFAIK all of the usual sources I've seen at most give only a year of birth (including sources sympathetic to the story and sources that take his existence for granted), it would be interesting to investigate what could possibly be the source for any precise birthdate.

Thank you very much Isababa for taking the time and effort to respond with that additional information on the article's talkpg, that is most helpful. Have still not been able to find the work or author in library or booksellers' online catalogues, but given the publication year and the numerous permutations by which spanish names & titles may be filed under, that's not totally unexpected. Anyways, thanks again. --cjllw ʘ TALK 23:43, 10 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
