Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Some of your recent edits, such as those you made to Trivium (band), have been considered unhelpful or unconstructive and have been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. It has been decided by many users that the genre should be left metalcore influenced thrash metal band, please do not change! Asics talk Editor review! 16:34, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not delete content from articles on Wikipedia, as you did to Hessian (social group). Your edits could be considered vandalism, and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Steve-g 08:32, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just to let you know that I agree with part of what you wrote at the discussion page (sorry I hadn't noticed it there at the bottom before I did my last edit) and I purged out 'jazz' (and the silly shit about being one of the 'greatest guitarists', etc.). However, the innovator thing does not require one be a 'Chuck-fanboy'; merely a student of how the genre became phenomenonally successful on a wide scale, and how it developed chronologically from the mid-80s. Cheers...A Sniper 09:59, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but that anus.com reference on the Schuldiner page is an unreliable source. Why on earth would you cite that as having any historical validity? I have respected your edits, which we've discussed, but this one won't fly because it is nonsensical and merely one peron's opinion (and a silly one at that). Cheers, A Sniper 13:30, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - I actually agree with you about Hessian (social group). I think the article is awful. It was actually removed once because it was so bad. If you feel strongly enough about it, I think you could nominate it for deletion, but you'd have to research how to do that. Steve-g 18:05, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's looking better now. The first time it was removed was because the article plagiarized some text from hessian.org, it also implied that a 'hessian' was a type of skateboarder. I disagreed with this as I've always associated 'hessian' with metal or at least rock. Steve-g 07:41, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks

[edit]

With regards to your comments on User talk:Spearhead: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors; personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks may lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Bubba hotep 09:54, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Try reading up on WP:CIVIL. I have earlier warned you to be civil. I regard the edits you have done on e.g. Death grunt and List of black metal bands as vandalism. If you can't argue in a proper, adult manner, maybe WP isn't a place for you after all. Spearhead 10:04, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fuck you Spearhead!--Spearhead no. 2 20:40, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wtf? lol..please direct these comments to Spearhead's page. Isilioth 00:29, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Black metal

[edit]

I do not understand this edit, please explain. Thanks.--Alf melmac 10:33, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

why'd you dig that up? that (i admit) was vandalism on my behalf. AIDS is a commonly-used term to slander poser black metal bands. I put it there because perhaps our old friend Spearhead (who was reverting any change anyone made pretty much hourly -.-) wouldnt notice. Cunning, no? Isilioth 10:37, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I take a dim view of all vandalism, slanderous or otherwise. Please refrain from such edits in future, there is likely to be a better and less confrontational way of getting a message across, like a fully convincing argument on a relevant talk page that then forms part consensus. Thank you for your honest reply.--Alf melmac 10:57, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The band had been removed from the list by myself and many other people many times. The dickhead user was repeatedly (and quickly) reverting all sensible changes, whilst not visiting the talk page (although telling others to). Have a look at the talk page for list of black metal bands. Isilioth 11:00, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have now seen enough of your contributions over time to give you a final warning for your personal attacks and dubious editing techniques. Any reoccurence of such activity, either in an article, talk page, user page, user talk page, or via edit summary will result in your being blocked. Please consider the advice offered above, and be civil at all times. Also, it has been noted that you are a couple of edits nearer the WP:3RR rule on some articles. Bubba hotep 11:24, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bubba, perhaps you would like to have a look at what Spearhead does. He's the reason I have made "personal attacks and dubious editing techniques". As far as the "dubious editing techniques" go, the only one i have ever made is the Cradle of Filth|Aids one. I have made many logical changes and contributed to talk discussions whilst other users have failed to do so. Keep that in mind. Also, I have only ever really made personal attacks to Spearhead, I think. Isilioth 11:37, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've looked at what Spearhead does. I have no interest in getting involved with your content dispute, only that it is conducted in a civil, proper manner. So far, I have not seen him refer to you as a "dickhead", or a "fucking moron" – although judging by your user page, this disdain extends to most who don't agree with you. Just be warned. I hope you do decide to contribute in a more constructive way in the future as I get no pleasure in blocking people. Bubba hotep 11:41, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I put that there to try and ward off more idiots. As for the content, (I dont want to sound like a grade-2er here but..) i am right and he is wrong. Ill try tone down the attacks. But seriously...jesus, noone else can have a logical say in the articles he manipulates. Isilioth 11:44, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, point noted. The reason I stay out of content disputes in this field (e.g. metal genres) is because they become unnecessarily heated. Carry on... nicely now! :) Bubba hotep 11:53, 13 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trivium

[edit]

The band themselves believe they are thrash metal, and they are! There is a big difference between their old metalcore music, and their new thrash music. Their myspace sdays they are thrash, and there is citation elsewhere. I am trying to track down this citation for metalcore and thrash, so the article is better. Any objections? Black Metal

[edit]

The HM article is undergoing a review at the moment, so I've had to revert your edit solely on the basis of formating. If you have an issue with the content, can you take it to the talk page, and we'll agree there on a better version. I don't have a prejudice here and would like to here your openion. Thanks. Ceoil 02:50, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Isilioth, sorry, I was gone for a few days and I only saw the black metal discussion this evening. I've ammended the section and replied to some of your points on the talk page; re the three waves, can you put together a short sentence or two on this (I'm not up to date on the third so I'll leave it alone), however we'd need a better source than anus.com. I'll start digging for refs. No hard feelings, its just you came along at a bad time (about an hour after the closing reviewers were complaining about sources). Whatever, the sections as it stands is more accurate. Ceoil 19:16, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism of trivium

[edit]

Hello, Isilioth, I would like to inform you that there is discussion on the trivium page concerning writing a section on criticisms of trivium. This seems relevant to your interests ;). Anyway, I feel such a section is necessary, as the article only speaks well of trivium, and does not address all viewpoints, and I am sure you second that. However, I would advise, if you choose to edit the article in this respect, you find citations to support any claims made (i.e, the views of the metal community on trivium concerning their music, mentality, credibility, etc.). This way, a deletion of the section will be less likely. Have I made your day (not sarcasm)? Cronos12390 05:22, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Black metal

[edit]

I assure you I have no ill intention towards you or black metal. Rather, per the Featured Article Review, I am one of a few users trhying to make sure the heavy metal music article continues to adhere to Wikipedia's standards. Remarks like "Please stop your petty, incorrect editing to the black metal section" and "As for the rewording about 'including electronic elements' or whatever...that was surely out of spite" can be taken as uncivil and are not in good faith. I'm certainly open to more references on balck metal in the article, but we need to rely on the most reliable sources, which includes books on the subject and articles from major publications. I'm not trying to keep you from working on the article; however, keep in mind that there are certain guidelines towards referencing and notability we have to adhere to. Thank you.

By the way, I hardly listen to just "mainstream music". Since when were Husker Du, Bauhaus, and Jesu ever mainstream? WesleyDodds 11:40, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Attacks on Talk:Trivium

You want some evidence, well here's what I can show you from just a quick skim through only the Talk:Trivium page. Maurauth (...) 09:10, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So many idiot bands say theyre their 'own' style of metal. Cradle of Filth, a prime example. And NO, fool, there is no way a genre can be subjective...genres are objective... fuck, how the hell did you come up with that?? According to your logic, I could be listening to classical music, but you could listen to the same thing and say thats hip hop? If you cant tell the difference between metal genres (which obviously no one here can), you are completely useless. Isilioth 05:51, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

LOL "Metal" Lord. I had a look at your user page. Theres only about 3 or 4 bands I would call metal (Iron Maiden, Metallica (early), black sabbath). You don't know anything about metal. I Laugh hard at the title "Metal Lord". 14 years old? Trivium is a metalcore band. Isilioth 22:50, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Oh you guys know soooo much. You plead equality. Why dont you sign your comments? Have you all got commplete dumbfuck names like "Metal Lord"? Whoever said something about me thinking only 3 or 4 bands on his list are metal: I meant 'actual' metal. I included Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and such. I discluded rock-based bands such as Marilyn Manson, Trivium, Slipknot, all your metalcore and alternative shit. E tac, i dont think im the most "metal" person alive. I often dont dress in any "metal" way to avoid being approached by moron "metalheads", as they label themselves. You completely miss the point of metal. I am sure you would laugh if i was to inform you that metal is dead. Also, this whole fucking category should be deleted, it has nothing to do with this homosexual article. Isilioth 05:46, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

1. (you shouldnt have to to realise this, but) If you had read that article from MetalHammer i quoted here, you would know that he listened to a couple of black metal bands to terrify the other kids at school. (yes yes, this is 'my' opinion, but that = poser). No 'troo' BM fan would be in a metalcore band. 2. His BM band was a one-man band, most likely a bedroomBM band when he was a teenager. Theres been thousands, big whoop. 3. Now I know youre going to jump down my throat for this, but Matt Heafy is half white, half asian. Black metal is very anti-racemixing. 4. He wore those bm shirts to try get some street cred. But all this shit on this talk page has got little to do with this gayass article. And for the record (although I think its idiotic, and is for teenage nerds), Maurath, you cant be "vberkvlt" and listen to trivium. Fail. Isilioth 11:40, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Maurauth, if you weren't so incompetent you would have read my post further up this page. Just in case you get lost, I'll post it right here for you:

"I posted this on Asics talk page in response to something he left me: YES objection. Just because they themselves say theyre thrash metal does not make them so. They are just using this lately to try market themselves as real metal (See: front cover of latest MetalHammer magazine). Across of the cover of that mag, it said "Trivium: Destroyers of False Metal" and the quote from matt heafy: "Fuck metalcore...We're for real". Which is complete idiocy. Their new material may be influenced by early Metallica, but does not change the fact that they are a METALCORE band. They were always a metalcore band before they included a Metallica influence. This makes them a metalcore band (early), thrash metal- influenced metalcore band (recent). Still, its important to realise that any sources such as myspace and anything the band/promoters are responsible for, is biased as a marketing tool. "Heavy metal" sells. Isilioth 05:38, 31 March 2007 (UTC)" Someone is now labelling them Progressive Metal in the infobox. WTF? Isilioth 09:59, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

HAHAHAHAHA. You have a problem with not being able to read things properly, surely. Isilioth 03:41, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

I don't care if you said 'AGAINST YOU' or not, I'm showing evidence of Personal Attacks, and there's a hell of a lot more of it on other pages, and lots of slander of the artists. Look at WP:NPA for how to define a personal attack. It's nothing to do with a 'happy place' or less 'tough' than the 'real world', but that you should be trying to edit to help the encyclopedia project, not to insult other contributors. I like how you say that I don't take anything you say into consideration, and then go on to say how all my resources are idiotic and as reliable as ED, that's not hypocritical at all is it? I am yet to report you, I'm just hoping that you'll take heed of the warnings and try to be less abrasive when posting. I'm sure if they wanted you banned it's not to hard to permaban your IP and mID. Maurauth (...) 10:10, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
