Walnut nut? Not?[edit]

Interesting reference on the walnut shell.

I do not read Deutsch, and did not feel I understood the Google translation of your reference. Do you feel sufficiently competent in the two languages to make an addition to the Walnut article summarizing and referencing this article to explain why the walnut fruit is a nut?

Although I am not sure that the point is important, I do not need to be. Given that "nut" is not just a botanical term for certain whole fruits but also a common term for certain edible seeds, it would be nice to use the term "walnut fruit" when discussing the fruit's botanical nutness. It appears to me that the referenced article simply used the term wallnut (well "Walnuss") which could be the entire fruit, the entire tree, what's left of the fruit after the soft rind is removed, or the pieces of seed removed from the shell: rather imprecise for a discussion of precisely what is a nut and not.
