Article Feedback Tool update
Hey It Is Me Here. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.
We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

- In fairness, the Project page says that "a five-sentence update is generally considered to be more than enough," rather than it being a minimum requirement. Commons images on the main page
Hello! When transcluding a Commons image on the main page, please remember to first upload it to the English Wikipedia and tag it with the {{uploaded from Commons}} template. Otherwise, it will remain unprotected (and subject to replacement by a vandal) until KrinkleBot detects the transclusion and updates Commons:Auto-protected files/wikipedia/en accordingly. In the Ariel Sharon photograph's case, that took about 25 minutes. It sometimes takes several hours (and it won't occur at all during an outage, such as the one that spanned several days in November).
Currently, this notice appears when the ITN template is edited. Having recently added an animated "stop" graphic, I don't know what else to try to make it sufficiently attention-grabbing. If you have any ideas, your help would be appreciated. Thanks! —David Levy 22:58, 11 January 2014 (UTC)

subst:the {{cite doi}}s, rather than reverting? The way the {{cite journal}}s are done at the moment is sloppy (some fields left out; e.g. "Surname AB, Lastname CD" rather than "Surname, A. Re your message about U.S./US and U.K./UK, I did know about that MoS rule. I cannot remember now, but going by my edit summaries, I clearly thought consistency with the rest of the article was more important. I have reverted my changes, but there still remain a lot of U.K.s and U.S.s in the article. I would have altered them now, but the "search and replace" tool in the edit box does not work, or not on my laptop at least. I have been meaning to report it for some time to the Village Pump HD and will do now. Cascading Module:Citation/CS1
I could be wrong, but I think the only effect of adding cascading protection to Module:Citation/CS1 was to full-protect the doc page (Module:Citation/CS1/doc) and all of the templates that appear on the doc page (e.g. {{high-risk}}, {{module rating}}). As best I can tell, cascading protection applied to modules doesn't extend to any of the submodules that the module dynamically loads. So I don't think it has the effect that you imagined it would. As describing at CASCADE, we don't generally apply cascading protection directly to templates because it doesn't work well, and I believe the same it probably true for Lua modules as well. "Lutheran" is only so-called, because the masses of only Kyrie and Gloria were liked by Catholics as well.
