Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, It sjhs, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was St. James High School (Philippines), which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 00:53, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm C.Fred. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to St. James High School (Philippines) seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 00:53, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to St. James High School (Philippines). While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. The tone of the text, with passages like "It is now the proud alma mater of the countless professionals", is unacceptably promotional.C.Fred (talk) 01:07, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to St. James High School (Philippines). This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. You cannot use Wikipedia as a website for the school; your username implies that you are editing on behalf of the school's IT department.C.Fred (talk) 01:26, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  —C.Fred (talk) 01:34, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Good day C.Fred i represent the schools it department i do not wish to advertise i simply want to update the old history article of Saint James High School it was written way back 2008 and a lot of things changes. I apologize if the tone of my texts seems advertising or promotion please reconsider thank you and have a nice day. PS can i not use the words that lead me to be block?

Decline reason:

I'm sorry, but no, I cannot unblock you. It just is not that simple. Firstly, information in encyclopedia articles must be from WP:reliable sources, independent of the subject, with a reputation for fact checking. That excludes most edits from an organization's representatives. Certainly promotional content cannot be used. (It looks like you were warned three times about that.) Articles must be neutral in tone in an encyclopedia. It seems to me that WP:PAID applies to you. Please read and heed that information carefully. As I see it, you will not be unblocked until:

If you have no interest in editing Wikipedia beyond writing about your organisation, then you will not be unblocked. If this is the case, I recommend you consider alternative outlets.

I'm sorry that this message could not be more favorable, but the goal of Wikipedia is to build a neutrally worded encyclopedia whose articles are about notable topics based on previously published writings. Hope this helps. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 04:07, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

God I'm dense

Well, here's more news. Your user name is not acceptable; it indicates use by a group or organization-- IT, your school. Took a moment for that to sink in.You will need to choose a user name that represents you as an individual. Please see the templated message below. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 04:14, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Use this--{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} to request unblock with new proposed user name. -- Dlohcierekim (talk) 04:16, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
