I used to have another name, but I gave up and changed it after my account was hacked after 5 months. I got some malware, several spy bots, a few tracking cookies and a commercial popup. My securaty center alerted me, so I asumed my old account was hacked and no longer had pass word securaty, so I created this one to replace it. See Archived past lives for details.

File:156 unit in Coventry 2000.JPG[edit]

Hi. Thanks for uploading this image, but could you please upload free images to Commons in future? That way they're categorised with all the others, and can be used by other projects. -mattbuck (Talk) 22:14, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I found Commons' upload page too baffeling.--Its snowing in East Asia (talk) 09:22, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'd be happy to help. I personally use the basic upload form as I agree it's easier. As for the main upload form, Destination filename would be "156 unit in Coventry 2000.JPG". Original source in this case is Own work (or just use {{own}}). Authors is you, so just use your signature ~~~. Date is the date of the photo, so 2000-MM-YY. Description would be something like "Central Trains Class 156 DMU in Regional Railways Express livery at Coventry". Other versions is used for other versions of the same image - eg crops, etc. Permission should just be left blank, or put your licence tag here. Additional info is used for geocoding, so leave blank if you don't want to do that. Then use the licencing dropdown (if you didn't put a licence tag in the permissions box) to select a licence for your image. -mattbuck (Talk) 14:13, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.--Its snowing in East Asia (talk) 15:26, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also, when creating/amending image file description pages (such as the one referred to above), please note that categories must be enclosed by square brackets, not curly brackets. Here is a fix which I needed to carry out. The square bracket places your file into the relevant category; however the curly bracket places it in different categories, and what is worse, also pulls in a lot of items which are either irrelevant or should not be on file description pages. User box[edit]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello, please be careful about edits you make. Recent edits to Niger introduced quite a few spelling and grammatical errors, as well as manual of style errors. I thought at first that perhaps English isn't your first language, but a userbox on your userpage suggests that you are a native speaker, so maybe you just need to be a bit more careful. Do you use the preview button before saving, and check what you have written afterwards? In this edit from 27 June, you appear to be trying to correct your own spelling, but still get it wrong. Do you have a spellchecker? I don't want to discourage you, because you are making good contributions, but if you're just a bit more careful, then other editors don't need to follow behind to make corrections. :)

Also, I was wondering if you are going to create an article called 2010 Sahel drought, which you have been adding links to? Otherwise, there's little value in creating a "main article" link to something that doesn't exist.--BelovedFreak 11:48, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My Microsoft spell checker is useless. exsampel= Is it "carrt" or "cart", answer, "brick". No I can't spell at all and grammar is poor. My spoken English is good, since it only has gamer not spelling. Also I was going on to do 2010 Sahel drought. :-)--Its snowing in East Asia (talk) 12:51, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I know dyslexia is a difficult thing to contend with. I don't know what browser you use, but Firefox has a spellchecker that highlight misspelled words in the edit box as you type. I make tons of typos, but I just try to make an extra effort to go back and check. Some still get through! :) ANyway, just checking about that article, as I wasn't sure if you were planning to create it or not.--BelovedFreak 14:02, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Recent articles[edit]

Hi. First of all, I must say, good job on the recent articles. They seem to focus on storms, floods, droughts and other pestillences in various places. However, regarding your global storm activity articles, would it be a good idea to split them into "summer" and "winter" articles, so that each article can focus on the winter storms (snow, wet snow, midlatitude windstorms, snowmelt, thundersnow, nor'easters, lake-effect, etc.) in both hemispheres, while another set can focus around the summer storms (flooding, severe thunderstorms not including tornado outbreaks which have a separate article, hailstorms, microbursts, summer derechos, etc.) in both hemispheres. The problem with this layout is that only recent years seem to have the articles, while in previous years the information is more sparse. This can create the false illusion that these events are necessarily becoming more frequent only in recent years, when only it's just that there's more information available. Also, regarding your other articles like 2010 Sahel drought, please be aware that the Sahel sees drought on a regular basis as it experiences wet/dry years, and it's the heat wave in the area that's unusual while many parts of the Sahel are actually seeing more precipitation than normal. I will also work on some of these articles in the coming days and weeks. Finally, please remember that not all of those links on the global storm activity articles are applicable to each article you write. Thanks. ~AH1(TCU) 19:43, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have fixed it. Please, discuss on Talk:2010 Northern Hemisphere summer heat wave for consensus before splitting. --Kslotte (talk) 13:22, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Read WP:SPINOUT for how to accomplish a split. The process isn't that simple, because you need to inform others with templates, links and discussions about the split. --Kslotte (talk) 18:16, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for responding. I'm not sure where you're getting spam and pop-ups, but I'm sure it has nothing to do with your registration of your account. It could be some kind of trojan or adware program, and it may be taking advantage of your account in some way? However, most users do not seem to have this problem. I hope you continue working on some articles using your IP account, although it will be more difficult to check for errors and add cite tags that way. ~AH1(TCU) 23:26, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

I've found myself recategorizing a lot of images that you uploaded recently (they should actually be categorized in Category:Images of England or Category:Images of Wales rather than Category:England or Category:Wales, for example). But more to the point, if you're genuinely releasing the photographs into the public domain, perhaps you might want to consider uploading them to Wikimedia Commons instead of here, so that they're available to the other language Wikipedias as well? Hey, I was just going to call you up on this very subject :-) -- is there any real need to link to the Fender BXR 300C on the bass amplification article? I'm sure you must like it as an amp, but if we start adding links here to every amp made it would make a very long, and for the most part not very useful, list. I might personally use a Fender Bassman, Ampeg SVT or Roland CUBE in my amp setup (I don't! :-)), but they don't need to be linked on the article for bass amplification, which talks about the general subject rather than specifics. Do you mind if I remove the link? Fattonyni (talk) 09:32, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Pollo neck requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader.
