An ambitious article here!

[edit]

Hello Itzcoatzin, this is certainly an ambitious bit of genealogical research! Here are a few tools to help you out:

1) Wikipedia citation tool for Google Books You can remove the <ref> and </ref> for making a list of cites; leave the tags on if you're using them as footnotes.

2) Wikipedia articles are actually much simpler than the article you are working on, and you don't have to write the whole Wikipedia article yourself. My suggestion is to start a little stub article for Wikipedia, and keep going on your research in your user space, perhaps with an eye to creating a second article for a family / geneaology forum or website.

3) There's a formula I use when doing sailing ship articles, which also may need to cite primary sources:

This ship (dates - place ) was known for (some particular event, achievement, etc.) [footnote to secondary source].

Second paragraph: a little history; secondary source preferred here. Following paragraphs: Expand, perhaps adding a few brief facts with footnotes from primary sources.

If you start with a very brief article, then others, including people in Spain with easier access to source materials, can help you expand. Once you have a very basic stub article, you can ask for help from Wikipedia:WikiProject Genealogy or Wikipedia:WikiProject Spain.

4) Wikipedia:Family trees will help with creating the family tree to add to your base article.

PS Your reviewer Kevin is a great guy (I've met him), but his specialty is Wikipedia style and policies, not Spanish or genealogy. Paciencia y serenidad, Kalimán! Everyone here has a little piece of the puzzle, and there is no deadline. Djembayz (talk) 14:05, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you that is very helpfull. About the code of arms i am in contact with a zambrana citizen he will be providing me with images from zambrana. He states that zambrana flag and arms are the same but they have combined several municipities do to they size

Please understand that your private contact with a person in Zambrana does not constitute a reliable source. A reliable source for the use of a particular coat of arms (please note that in English, it is coat of arms, not code of arms) being used by a particular municipality would be a page from that municipality's official website bearing that coat of arms, or any other declaration in an official capacity linking the municipality with the arms. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:21, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That whats presented the arms used as a flag is for a group of cities that joined, the one i present was given by a spanish king that cannot be removed and is used.

Huh?? Coats of arms are presented to individuals, not to cities. Cities may adopt a coat of arms, but this is something of a modern trend now that the historic primacy of inherited heraldry has faded. There does not appear to be any indication that the city of Zambrana has adopted or used any coat of arms, either the ones you have suggested or any other. If you have a source that attributes any coat of arms to the city of Zambrana (and not just to a family named Zambrana), please provide. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 20:26, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

click on the web page provided in the wiki. and look up ? I even posted the image? Do you even read any info i present or you just have a thing aganst me? http://www.cuadrilladeanana.es/zambrana/ use your mouse arrow in the crest presente din the top part. Here you go it may be to complicated to understand http://www.cuadrilladeanana.es/zambrana/images/escudito1.jpg

By the way the arms given by the king of spain are in use to the present by the cities.

Your user page

[edit]

Jose,

I think it's time to take down your user page. Wikipedia is not a webhost for you to store your own personal research, and user pages that pretend to be articles are subject to deletion. As has been pointed out at multiple venues, your research is not likely to ever evolve into a useful article, so there is no point in keeping it posted on your user page.

I invite you to delete the material yourself. If you feel the need to preserve the information because of all the work you've done to collect it, I would recommend setting up a Wiki on wikia.com. They are a webhosting service and are set up to handle just this type of thing. They even run the same (or similar) MediaWiki software so you should be able to translate your page rather easily.

If you disagree with this assessment, I will likely take the matter to the community through a miscellany for deletion nomination. I hope you do not take this as a personal insult to you, but rather a move in keeping with Wikipedia's guidelines that apply equally to all. Can you at least send me all the templates codes so that i can keep all my work. Mainly the reference list template and the family tree

Jose Luis Zambrano De Santiago (talk) Jose Luis Zambrano De Santiago (talk) 01:22, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I can't send you anything, but you are free to copy the page yourself. Edit the page, select all of the text (CTRL-A if you're using a Windows machine), Copy, and then paste into your favorite text editor and save the file. You'll then have the text (complete with all of the Wiki code) to paste into the Wikia site you create. Note -- not all of the templates or other code will work on Wikia, but you're free to try. Hello Itzcoatzin. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Fortun(o) Sanchez (Sangiz) Grandee Zambrana".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Fortun(o) Sanchez (Sangiz) Grandee Zambrana}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 22:12, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
