Hello. This is a reply to your entry on Wikipedia:Wikiquette_alerts. I'm going to leave a message on both user's telling them that they should try to achieve consensus instead of mindlessly reverting the other user's edits. I think you should watch the page to make sure nobody violates the three-revert rule. Thank you for trying to solve this dispute. Thanks

[edit]

for the suggestion about my user page. There was some reason why I redirected it which made sense at the time but I can't now remember it. It never struck me that an unwanted effect was to make those two "Specials" less accessible. I've inserted links on the page.

I've had less time than usual in the last couple of days but I still have in mind to write something about pseudo-Apuleius. Maybe even tomorrow. Andrew Dalby 20:46, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Latin

[edit]

Hello Iustinus! I have a new text in Latin (from an Italian woman Katarina Vilioni who died in Yangzhou in 1348: Image:YangzhouKatarinaVilioniTomb1342.jpg). Would you be able to give us a transliteration and translation of the text? Best regards. PHG 10:37, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Iustinus. Thank you so much, I really appreciate, and congratulations again for your amazing linguistic skills! Best regards. PHG 22:54, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Medieval Latin

[edit]

Hello Iustinus! I hope everything is doing well! I stumbled recently on a big piece of Medieval Latin, by the Templar master Jacques de Molay. I do not have an official translation, and the Latin is quite beyond my competencies. Would you mind considering developing a translation of the text? As some old French may be intermingled with the Latin as well, I may be able to help for some of the vocabulary parts. I also can help on the context if needed: the letter was written circa 1300 to Edward I of England ("Eabardo"); it is about combined operations between the Templars and the Mongol ruler Ghazan ("Casanus Tartarorum rex"); at one point it discusses the conflict between Ghazan and his fellow Mongol ruler "Portefferi" (Chagatai realm). The (...) parts correspond to holes in the ancient paper. Best regards!PHG (talk) 06:54, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Iustinus! Thank you for your message. I don't know of a photograph of the letter itself. The text was taken from a transcription in Laurent Dailliez, "Jacques de Molay, dernier maitre du Temple, p.190, Note 65. I double-checked, and my text (above) is the exact retranscription of Dailliez's text. Best regards. PHG (talk) 10:33, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

1248 Papal bull to the Mongols

[edit]

Hi Iustinus! I created the article Viam agnoscere veritatis with a 1248 Papal bull to the Mongol... but the bull is in Latin. Should you have time, could you possibly take a look and provide a translation? Best regards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PHG (talkcontribs) 21:32, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Latin to English translators ?

[edit]

Dear Iustinus

Can you possibly recommend any good free Latin to English translators available on the web ? I found InterTran, but not very good on ‘Quod erat denmonstrandum’ or ‘Veni, vidi, vici’ for example. Hate to think what it might do with Newton’s Principia (-:

And for that matter, same request for Ancient Greek to English translators

D&D articles for Wikipedia 0.7

[edit]

Hi there!  :)

As someone who's worked on D&D and/or RPG articles before, I'm inviting you to participate in our goal to both improve articles that have been selected to be placed in the next Wikipedia DVD release, as well as nominate more to be selected for this project. Please see the WikiProject D&D talk page for more details. :) BOZ (talk) 17:34, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you have put some work into the Gary Gygax article, which I have nominated for a GA review. If there is anything you can do to help it get passed, please join in! Also, feel free to comment on the D&D WikiProject talk page regarding our efforts to get articles in the 0.7 release. BOZ (talk) 03:18, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
