--Iya Ephrem Paulin (talk) 15:46, 15 February 2014 (UTC)There is a long time ago people were looking for the guitar perfect tuning, and were condemned to use the current Standard tuning: E A D G B E. What I must say before any purpose is that, the guitar "standard tuning" that we are using now has been made in an empirical way, such as sustaining just what most of us agree the compatibility if we can say like that, without a Mathematical demonstration. The tuning that I am bringing here, 'Eph-set: G B Eb G B Eb' going from the sixth string to the first, has been the first tuning that I started to use when playing with the standard tuning and seeing that it was not really coherent by 2001 (In high school) before taking this decision about 9 years later to write a book. After being many times set aside by other players in our orchestra about my tuning, I decided to prove that my tuning was the best because I was convinced of its theoretical features and then practical (easiness to play with that tuning). As it has been demonstrated in my document Guitar tuning Eph-set, you will find there the tuning of the guitar in its profound side. The music cannot walk without Mathematics. In fact, one of the mathematical branches (Arithmetic) which is the only way to understand the music and the Geometry to complete it, is the best mean to prove that a given tuning can be playable, perfect or not. If we take out one of the Pythagoreans aims about the music, we will find that, that aim was to link the music only to Arithmetic, to demonstrate the perfection of the sounds' series through that special science because, for them and as I pointed out after my work without any contact with the Pythagoreans and their Arithmetical vision about the music, The symmetry, the translation, the mathematical series and other arithmetical elements globally, explain in an exact way, the disposition and the series of notes all along the guitar's fretboard. And I thought from that moment that, only from a mathematical demonstration and the arithmetical obviously should lead us to accept or to place a given tuning as the best or the perfect and not in an empirical way because many people are using it. We can then notice that many tunings have been made from the 16th century hardly, trying to find the perfect one in vain. This leads us to ask a question, what is the Guitar perfect tuning? The first answer I will give here before you read my demonstrations (About Eph-set: G B Eb G B Eb) is that, the guitar perfect tuning is the tuning which will never ask by any reason, for an individual adjustment to palliate a difficulty issued from a special song. And the tuning found about is Eph-set with a total coherent fretboard that has been proved musically and mathematically.[reply]
