Journal articles

Hi, thanks for contributing journal articles! You can find some tips on improving journal stubs here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Academic Journals/Writing guide. I notice that in most of the stubs that you have created, you mention that articles can be accessed on Scopus and Science Direct. Especially the last one (but the first one, too), could be considered by some to be spam. Science Direct is just Elsevier's online platform to provide access to journals. What usually is done is entering a (direct) link to the journal page on Science Direct into the journal infobox (see Behavioural Brain Research, an article that I created a while ago). It is also useful to mention that journals are covered by the Science Citation Index. Not mentioning this kind of information means that you will risk deletion of the article. You have reverted my changes to Artificial Intelligence (journal) a few times, but believe me, I am only trying to help and make the article more in accordance with WP guidelines. I'll do this again and hope you will not revert me again. This time I'll leave in the 5-year IF, although this is something mentioned in almost no journal article (and as far as I know, not currently a popular statistic). • PS: I just noticed that one of the reversions that I mentioned above was initiated by an anonymous IP, 145.36.63.11, and then completed a minute later by you. That IP traces to Elsevier. If you work for Elsevier, you have a conflict of interest and should be very careful, because something like that can get you blocked. If you indeed work for Elseveir, what you can do is whenever you edit an article related to Elsevier or on a journal published by them, drop me a note and I'll check it for neutrality, so that you remain on the safe side of WP policy. Of course, if you have nothing to do with Elsevier and this was all just a coincidence, then this is not necessary. --Crusio (talk) 16:12, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

• Hi again, I left a lengthy response on my talk page. It may help you save some of the image files that you just uploaded. In addition, I don't think that the external links you are adding are a good idea. Those that are directly related to the journals are already in the infoboxes. Those to the more general Elsevier RSS feeds could be regarded as spam. I think you should take them out. Also, the ISSN belongs in the infobox, it is not an external link. • I've had a look at the latest changes that you made and most looks pretty good! One thing about the external links: apparently I was wrong about these: a link to the journal home page is acceptable and appropriate as an external link. Shows I don't know all! However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
