NY 254

No offense to you or anything, but it doesn't seem you understand. NY 254 is under county control for those lengths. No CRs, except for ones that are concurrent are completely along SRs unless they are entirely concurrent, like CR 56 and CR 42 in Clinton County - which are maintained as NY 456 and NY 314.Mitch32(UP) 18:35, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Re: Thanks

Hey, no problem. I wrote it, don't feel like it being demoted :). Also, about County Route 58 (Warren County, New York) - I would clean that quick, it is a mess.Mitch32(Go Syracuse) 19:12, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Your massive County Route additions

We have a problem. Other editors are complaining that you are making some really bad articles on the County Routes here in Warren County. As much as I respect that you have the same feelings I do, you really have to stop adding more and more until you add the missing history for all of the ones you wrote (7, 17, 34, 42, 58). I am providing you with what the five articles need:

  • CR 7 - I have traveled this, please expand using Yahoo Maps' hybrid feature to give an idea what surrounds the highway. History is needed big-time. Add towns to infobox, expand lead, fix up Major intersections, Reference #4 needs to be converted.
  • CR 17 - Expand lead, add history (there is some for CR 17 in NY 9L), rewrite the route description, and fix up Major intersections (remove the name change notes).
  • CR 34 - This in my opinion is pushing notability a little bit. Even for .94 of a mile, this route's route description can be expanded 3-fold at least. History needed, fix the Major intersections box. Fix Reference #2's format please.
  • CR 42 - Same as County Route 34.
  • CR 58 - I don't think you are aware, but you wrote the entire route backwards in terms of south-north. You wrote it north-south, which isn't right. The stuff you currently have in the body can be lead info, and you should rewrite the entire article with history. I have traveled West Mountain Road from Aviation to CR 23, there's more than that.

I know a few county routes that need sustainable articles are CR 6 and CR 59 for example. If you cannot write them, ask and I can do the job for you. Good luck.Mitch32(Go Syracuse) 10:18, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

If other editors are complaining about my "massive" additions, they have not done so on my talk page, and I see no mention of such on your talk page either. Nor do I feel the articles are "really bad". Wikipedia is supposed to be an encyclopedia that anyone can edit, and no one is supposed to have page ownership. As such, I created the pages providing what I knew I could, hoping that other users would be able to pitch in or that I could return later to fill in the gaps.
There are so many crap articles out there with literally one sentence for an introduction and no body, others with paragraph after paragraph of unsourced text. I don't make vandalism edits; I contribute factual information to the encyclopedia. I feel like I am being unfairly targeted here.
Please tell those editors that have a problem with me in the future to say something directly to me first. Otherwise it seems to me like you are the one who has a problem with me. In the meantime, I'll continue to touch up the pages you mentioned above, to the best of my ability (whatever that may be).

You really gotta calm down. I was told these off-Wikipedia, and I well, just wanted to tell you in a nice way. I mean they are pretty good ideas, and I have lots of experience and I know about stubs, I am just trying to help you out. Calm down please.Mitch32(Go Syracuse) 21:02, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

County Route 7 is turning out really well :) - Start to look history for it. I know on the NYSDOT website, although its for NY 9L, it still involves CR 7 - see here. In County Route 17, I told you that NY 9L near Haviland Road has a new bridge being built. :) - Would like to see that in there.Mitch32(Go Syracuse) 23:52, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
