License tagging for Image:Audrey De Montigny BMG 1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Audrey De Montigny BMG 1.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 01:04, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Alexz Johnson

[edit]

Hi, I've been going through your edits in the Alexz Johnson article and I just wanted to point out a few things. First, names of television shows, movies, magazines, and books should be in italics. Secondly, the commentary that you put in the articles, such as things like "I plan on expanding this section later", shouldn't go in the article. If you want to mention that you're still working on the article, please do that on the talk page for the article. If you fix these things then it gives other editors less work because they don't have to kind of go in after you and "clean up" the things that need fixing. Otherwise, the article looks a lot better. Dismas|(talk) 03:25, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. To help you out, I'll put a welcome message with various helpful links on your talk page here. Dismas|(talk) 07:51, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alexz Johnson article

[edit]

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner... As for the vandalism, the simplest way to deal with vandalism is to revert the article to its former state. For repeated cases of vandalism, you may want to start reading up on it at Wikipedia:Vandalism and go from there. Dismas|(talk) 22:31, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're most welcome. Dismas|(talk) 11:06, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, after looking at 69.119.119.178's block log entry it seems they were blocked on 4 December and there aren't any edits since the block. It would seem that they are indeed blocked. I'm not sure what you're seeing that makes you think that they are getting around the ban. I'm not an admin so I have just as many tools at my disposal as you do. The only thing I could suggest is you start reading through the vandalism pages such as Wikipedia:Long term abuse. Hope this helps, Dismas|(talk) 21:40, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

JD Fan, I found your complaint about 69.119.119.178 on S. Ewart's talk page. The topic just above "Signpost" on that page might interest you, "Sock accusation and IP vandal," where we were talking about the same vandal. I agree that a longer ban is in order. He's apparently a boy of 13 who not only acts as a vandalism factory but maintains an article about himself that reveals entirely too much information about his family, enough to raise concerns about safety. His article is supposed to have been deleted but hasn't been. The discussion continues on my talk page. Cognita 02:56, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I extended the block to 6 months. Hope that helps settle some frazzled nerves. :) Sarah Ewart 03:49, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Instant Star interview

[edit]

Saw you're a fan of Alexz, thought you might be able to help. I've organized an interview with Tyler Kyte from the show (he's Vincent Spiederman), and I'm trying to figure out some questions to ask. If you've got any ideas, give me a shout at user talk:zanimum. -- Zanimum 20:54, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alana Grace

[edit]

I have reverted the edit you made to this article to discuss the proposed deletion template I added because it was content that was not suitable for the article space. I have moved the comment to the talk space.

I will not remove the proposed deletion template. You are welcome to do so, as the template explains. Be aware that it is likely that I will nominate the article for deletion pursuant to the WP:AFD policy if you do so and if I conduct a closer review that leads me to believe the WP:MUSIC criteria is not met. Listens on MySpace.com are not a criteria under that standard. I do invite you to reivew that guideline and point out anything you are aware of that tends to make her notable. My concern is appropriateness for Wikipedia at this point, not in the future.

If you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to ask. I'm definitely open for discussion, and that is why it takes a period of 5 days or more to delete much of the content that might not be suitable. Erechtheus 02:41, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your response. I'm not really inclined to believe that MySpace listens is something that should be considered as potentially notable. It also sounds like you are not aware of any specific criteria Ms. Grace may meet. At this point, I can only suggest that you're welcome to remove the proposed deletion template and that I may or may not nominate the article for deletion. If that happens, we'll see what the broader community thinks about the suitability for Wikipedia. Erechtheus 23:24, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Alexz Johnson and Instant Star - Timing of CD and DVD

[edit]

I know the DVD is coming out. The person just made no sense at all, and that it wasn't lies as they put it.

Yea, I hope Alexz is releasing in October. That's what I've been hearing off and on for the past few weeks. Yea, April IS3 Soundtrack because all the others ones have been out in April, though I have heard that the new season is coming on in March now.

Alexz Johnson

[edit]

Honestly I've never heard her. I was doind a search on Joseph Shore and her article came up so I looked at it and fixed what it said about Joseph Shore.

NewYork1956 23:52, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I listened to it. It's not my cup of tea. I suppose she's a good singer but I would not buy her album. I still prefer Mario Lanza. :P
NewYork1956 05:59, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps, but I'll probably never know.
NewYork1956 06:13, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's ok. I get a headache with Opera sometimes. I've never heard Shannon Mercer sing, or even of her, but if I see a video of her on YouTube I'll take a look. I don't normally listen to singers of modern opera productions. When it comes to opera I live in the past.

Thanks for uploading Image:Alana_Grace_Photo_Supplied_By_Her_Management_1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:01, 8 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 12:01, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Audrey_De_Montigny_BMG_1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 06:37, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading Image:Jenny Galt on Rockstar Supernova - Photo 1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. [edit]

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 03:53, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bonjour

[edit]

Bien à toi, FrancoBras 13:21, 3 January 2008 (UTC).[reply]

AfD nomination of Julia DeMato

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Julia DeMato. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Julia DeMato (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:22, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Jenny Galt on Rockstar Supernova - Photo 2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jenny Galt on Rockstar Supernova - Photo 2.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. A tag has been placed on Jenny Galt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Notice

The article Jenny Galt has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't seem to meet guidelines for WP:MN

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
