Fourth fish stick incident[edit]

Speedy deletion of Fourth fish stick incident[edit]

A tag has been placed on Fourth fish stick incident, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

No indication of notability, should be in Wikinews?

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Harriv (talk) 20:17, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Topless DJ.jpg listed for deletion[edit]

Hi JIP, an image you uploaded, File:ScorpionsInTrance.jpg, has been listed by another at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion - I notice that you were not notified this was underway. - Peripitus (Talk) 02:41, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You probably mean File:Topless DJ.jpg instead - I had nothing to do with the Scorpions In Trance image. Seeing as the debate on Talk:Disc jockey ended in a conclusion that topless DJs can be mentioned, but the image can't be shown in that article, I really don't have an opinion at the moment. Even if the file is deleted, I still have the same picture, and many others, on my own computer. JIP | Talk 05:17, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re. your photo; thanks for the update.[edit]

It's a shame some idiot with no maturity or self-control chose to misuse your photo. I thought perhaps the vandal had uploaded it and it was suggested that I list it on bad images. Since you're obviously not the vandal, I withdraw my objection. Thanks for letting me know. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 23:16, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Slake's Limbo[edit]

Hi, trying to figure out why you deleted the "Slake's Limbo" post a while back. It wasn't mine, but the posting looked perfectly legitimate and your proclamation that it was "not significant" is myopic. Half the junior high schools in the US use this book in 7th or 8th grade. Please consider re-posting this page. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jjm10 (talkcontribs) 00:21, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

mr_spring[edit]

Hi, I see you deleted my article due to insignificant artist with no wiki entry. If you check further, there are references to Mr Spring in various wiki entrys, Please reconsider this again. If you care to look for mr Spring and 2FM (National radio) Ireland, you will find supporting information. 8 trackheaven were also informed of the release and supplimental photographs of the item in question can be supplied. Also in youtube are a number of videos with same item in question featured. I understand if you disagree, but thanks for reading this ,Kind regards (Mr spring (talk) 18:23, 13 April 2009 (UTC))[reply]

A tag has been placed on Postman Pat, Postman Pat, Postman Pat and his bottomless hat, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hey JIP, thanks for deleting Canada-China Agriculture and Food Development Exchange Center. Any chance you could also get it salted? This is the second time in a couple days it has been re-created. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 10:03, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have salted it for a period of one month. JIP | Talk 15:14, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of a page on my user page[edit]

Hi, You deleted a page on my user page relating to the history of Colchester United claiming that it was a test page. It was the framework for a page I was going to start writing and I was wondering if you could restore the page. It was rather annoying to make as my computer froze up the first time before I had saved it and had to do the whole thing again. I havent had time yet to add content to the page but I was going to start soon. Thanks for your help DarthJoeyJoJo (talk) 09:37, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've also reviewed your reason for deleting my page. (Im a bit new to this so its taken a wee while for me to understand all the jargon). You reason for deleting the page was because it was a test page (Reason - G2) however it clearly states that this reason does not apply to user pages. Therefore you have no grounds to delete this page. Please restore my page ASAP DarthJoeyJoJo (talk) 14:52, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • You had, in fact, created it at ColU history, in the main namespace, not at User:DarthJoeyJoJo/ColU history, which would have been in your own user namespace. So the deletion was entirely valid. I have now undeleted the article, moved it to your user namespace, and deleted the redirect. (In the process, another admin deleted the page again, so I undeleted it again.) JIP | Talk 16:11, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No prob with the undelete[edit]

I only deleted it because it was tagged as a test page for deletion. My apologies--Orange Mike | Talk 16:12, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Honestabe[edit]

My page, Honestabe was recommended for deletion because it contained "utter crap" according to user:Ironholds. The page was a discussion on the origins of Abe Lincoln's nickname, "Honest Abe." The Abraham Lincoln wikipedia page is protected and cannot be edited by everyone. Additionally, it does not include a discussion on the origins of the nickname.

After some discussion, I added about 15 cites to show that some of the "crap" was supported. One of these links was from a blog. I then went to bed. When I woke up this morning, my site was deleted by a bot due to this link to a blog. I would happily remove this link, but the page is gone. I would like the page to come back, or at least be userfied (I think that's the term). I thought the point of wikipedia was for others to edit material they considered "crap," not to simply throw it in the garbage bin. Thanks. Wikiwiki7390 (talk) 16:13, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored and userfied the page, it is now available at User:Wikiwiki7390/Honestabe. JIP | Talk 15:03, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

need your help[edit]

I am trying to report about Swedish military personnel and according to official documents there are 18,676 officers but only 770 soldiers and seamen in the Swedish Armed Forces.... The officer / soldiers ratio is so very large that Swedish officer’s don’t want this to be part of wiki. I have tried to write about the Swedish military personnel many times, but all my work is repeatedly being deleted. Also references to documents with those figures are deleted. Those who delete don’t find any errors. They just delete! What should I do? The article is: Military ranks of the Swedish armed forces --Malin Lindquist (talk) 20:50, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gabriel Bá[edit]

I want to recreate the page for Gabriel Bá that you oversaw the deletion of. For notability, the artist has been nominated for several Eisner Awards and was the artist of The Umbrella Academy which won the 2008 Eisner for Best Limited Series. Please contact me if you oppose the recreation.--Marcus Brute (talk) 00:08, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Karjala[edit]

Karjala uudelleenohjaus oli mielestäni siksi oikeutettu koska kyse on englannin kielisestä wikipediasta ja Karjala (maakunta) on Karelia englannin kielellä. Karjala brändinä puolestaan on aina "Karjala". "Karjala (beer)" -sivun tosin ehkä voisi siirtää pelkän "Karjala"n alle? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aceman87 (talkcontribs) 21:39, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apollo 440 Krupa song[edit]

Hi Are You sure it's "Gene Krupa syncopated style"? My enligsh grammar is not best but I think that it have to be Krupa's because it's his style. Anyway, will ask my teacher tommorow. Sorry for making change over Yours without a comment, didn't noticed somebody else edited (and I have switched that a few times in the past, leaded by various impuls).

I noticed you deleted some articles earlier today as expired PRODs that had not actually been tagged for 7 days. You may not have realized that the PROD period recently changed from 5 days to 7 days, so I thought I would alert you of this change so you don't delete any further articles prematurely. --ThaddeusB (talk) 04:48, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Value Per Action page appears to be Vendor specific (non-neutral)[edit]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Value_Per_Action

As written on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jellyfish.com: Patent: Jellyfish has a patent-pending form of online advertising that consists on returning part of the CPA fees back to consumers. It alleges that it creates inherent price savings for online shoppers and risk free sales for advertisers and calls it value-per-action advertising[3].

Proposed deletion of Tamers of Nonhuman Threats[edit]

The article Tamers of Nonhuman Threats has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

QCK[edit]

Speedy deletion nomination of QCK[edit]

A tag has been placed on QCK, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article that does not provide sufficient context to identify its subject. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. A tag has been placed on Blood Ceremony Films requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable
