The article that I have chosen to edit is the "Endocrine System". On this page, I would like to add the definition and function of two endocrine glands: the hypothalamus and anterior pituitary gland.

Hypothalamus: The hypothalamus is a key regulator of the autonomic nervous system. The endocrine system has three sets of endocrine outputs[1] which include the magnocellular system, the parvocellular system, and autonomic intervention. The magnocellular is involved in the expression of oxytocin or vasopressin. The parvocellular is involved in controlling the secretion of hormones from the anterior pituitary.

Anterior Pituitary: The main role of the anterior pituitary gland is to produce and secret tropic hormones[2]. Some examples of tropic hormones secreted by the anterior pituitary gland include TSH, ACTH, GH, LH, and FSH.

Does it make sense to add this new content to the proposed article?

Yes, I think the definitions they want to add to the article are very helpful to understand many parts of endocrinology.

Are there any other areas of the main article that your classmate could contribute to?

They could more details to the "Cell signaling" subheading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mill2488 (talkcontribs) 18:53, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Peer review questions

Is the content written in a neutral, unbiased tone? Yes there is no noticeable bias in writing style

Do the citations follow the MEDRS (Links to an external site.) (medicine, reliable sources) guidelines?

Yes they appear to follow MEDR guidelines since both source appear to come from textbooks that are not trying to influence opinions

Are the citations formatted correctly?

No the citations are in place as purely hyperlinks to the articles without stating authors or years of publication or any other information normally cited

Visit the main article that your classmate is contributing their new content to. Does it make sense to add this new content to the proposed article?

Yes and no. Yes because the information isn't currently present on the endocrine system page and would provide some insight. No however because at present there are links to articles on those subjects and since the article is on the endocrine system as a whole it could clutter up the page if each individual section were to have its functions added

Are there any other areas of the main article that your classmate could contribute to? Not with the information they included
