Welcome![edit]

Hello, JMKgreatgrand, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms our use and policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Thank you, Flat Out! I'm terrified you'll cancel me! I am struggling mightily all by myself, no one knows how to do wikipedia. I don't even know what Publish does, from my sandbox. I was just assuming it was not able to be viewed by others when I save in sandbox! Please help! As far as conflict of interest goes - yes this is my great grandfather, but he WAS in Who's Who and he WAS the official poet of the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn, and his books are available online and in reprint, and I inherited his books and letters, and no one else but me has this information. Draft Article[edit]

I have lots of references but haven't finished the article yet. When it's done I planned to submit for review. Correction: No one but me has the letters to his daughters, but there's lots of other information out there. I also believe I have the only copy of one of his books, The Deeside Lass. I have gotten it scanned and will send to probably archive.com to be put on line. JMKgreatgrand (talk) 05:01, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm here to help. If you want to create an article, I suggest you do it here: articles for creation. Let me know if I can help in any way. Flat Out (talk) 05:05, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

First question: Is my draft in my sandbox private to me, or is it public? I thought it was private. Second question: Is this considered a conflict of interest? (Of course there's no payment anywhere, and I never knew the subject personally.) There are plenty of external references, during his lifetime, and I have the references. If not me, who could write it? No one else has collected these references and information. JMKgreatgrand (talk) 05:23, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your sandbox is for you to play around and work stuff out, but draft articles belong in the draft space. You can write the article in draft space and let independent editors review it for you. Flat Out (talk) 05:53, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved your draft article to Draft talk:James Mackintosh Kennedy. Flat Out (talk) 05:55, 16 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, JMKgreatgrand. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "James Mackintosh Kennedy".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Dolotta (talk) 17:06, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am confused? The article has been accepted & posted in Wikipedia. I don't care if you delete the DRAFT but don't delete the posted article! JMKgreatgrand (talk) 17:59, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
