A barnstar for you![edit]

Thanks so much, Mz7! Just happy to help out. :) Joe Sutherland (WMF) (talk) 00:22, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations on your dissertation on Wikipedia and the reporting of breaking news. It is extremely well researched. This morning at 10:00 Sky News reported that Theresa May was on the steps of 10 Downing Street, preparing to make a statement. At 10:07 the radio announcer confirmed that she had said she would resign. So well done Wikipedia - her article was updated at 09:08. That is of course (as Risker pointed out during the Grant Shapps affair) 10:08 our time. Here's a courtesy copy of the meta discussion - I will be watching both pages.

Global locks[edit]

Here's an example of where a global lock would be appropriate [1]. Can you unlock "**** *** *** ******"? I can't see any reason why it was locked in the first place. 77.44.12.100 10:21, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Resent as an edit filter is claiming the first version is "not constructive". The account name is on your meta talk page.

Hey[edit]

So, I didn't realize a sco.wiki admin is actually employed by the foundation, but now that I know that I could use your help if you don't mind. –MJLTalk 23:16, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Strange situation[edit]

Hello JS. I just attempted to vote in the enwiki Arbcom elections. Upon attempting to login, my saved password was apparently incorrect so I reset my password with success via email (implying that it is the correct SUL-linked account). At that point, I was told “login not allowed” because my account is blocked, by you, from 2019 (prior to that year’s elections). I am completely baffled. I am pretty sure I have voted in most AC elections after the 2018 election without issue. I am a consistent ACE participant if not a coordinator. Any idea what is going on? I can’t make sense of it. ~Swarm~ {sting} 05:41, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Swarm. It sounds like you're trying to log into votewiki directly which isn't necessary. Try this link instead to "jump" there from English Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:SecurePoll/vote/806 Joe Sutherland (WMF) (talk) 18:31, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That makes sense... Not sure why the link was taking me to votewiki and prompting me to log in. Weird. Thanks for the clarification. ~Swarm~ {sting} 04:03, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No worries! Hopefully you managed to get a vote in. Joe Sutherland (WMF) (talk) 04:16, 14 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
