Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username. It also appears that your account is intended to be used for the purpose of telling the world about an organization, person or cause that you consider worthwhile. Unfortunately, many good causes are not sufficiently notable for their own Wikipedia article, and all users are discouraged from editing in any area where they have an inherent conflict of interest. You may wish to consider one of these alternative outlets. Additionally, If you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. NJA (t/c) 14:58, 1 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Please include the requested username.

Request reason:

I work for Jasper Morrison. There is already a wikipedia page for him but it is very brief. I would like to add neutral information to it about his designs, publications and exhibitions, for the benefit of the wikipedia audience. I have read the advice to do so via the talk page, which is fine. In choosing a user name, I was trying to be transparent and to comply with this guidance on the Username policy page: 'usernames are acceptable if they contain a company or group name but are clearly intended to denote an individual person, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation"'. If 'JT at JMLtd' does not indicate me satisfactorily then please can I change to 'John Tree' or to 'John Tree at Jasper Morrison Ltd'? ThanksJT at JMLtd (talk) 11:57 am, Today (UTC−4)

Accept reason:

I have unblocked the user, though he is advised that further to his disclosure when seeking to be unblocked that he must comply with and disclose his conflict per policy before any editing he describes. NJA | talk 19:10, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

rename discussion

[edit]

@NJA: Not sure I see concern over name in "x" at "y" format. DlohCierekim 18:47, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Dlohcierekim: Actually I agree. I have unblocked the user, though @JT at JMLtd is advised that further to his disclosure made in the unblock request that he must comply with and disclose his conflict per policy before any editing he describes. @Dlohcierekim, thanks for looking at this and alerting me of the request. Thanks. Concur on WP:PAID. JT at JMLtd, please see Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Help for helpful guidance. Essentially, information must be cited from reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and have a reputation for fact checking. Users must also be careful to avoid language that is overly laudatory. DlohCierekim 19:14, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of Interest

[edit]

Thank you for properly disclosing your paid status. However, it is strongly recommended that you do not directly edit articles where you have a conflict of interest. Instead, you should request edits using the edit request template. Please review WP:PSCOI for further details. creffett (talk) 19:34, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've made some changes to the requests you made at Talk:Jasper Morrison. Some of the changes that you made to a previous post were instead moved to a new post at the bottom of the talk page. That is because the changes you had made were not in line with the guidelines at WP:REDACTED. Those guidelines state that special changes to the font need to be made when you alter a previous post of yours. This is done to ensure continuity.

For example, if an editor replies to your post stating that something was not made clear by you, and you then change your post to make that thing clear, it might be wondered by other editors why the replying message was questioning something that appears to have already been included, when in fact you added it much later to the discussion.

In making these talk page changes, I hope that the work you put into correcting the things I mentioned wasn't missed by me when I moved the post, so please do look it over and let me know if otherwise. Thank you for your help! Regards,  Spintendo  19:14, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Spintendo: That's great, thank you. I understand now. I'll try it out.
