Dominion of kenya[edit]

I think that you have the dates wrong for the Dominion of Kenya. Looking at List of heads of state of Kenya, History of Kenya#Independence and Malcolm MacDonald it would appear that the dominion was from December 1963 to 1964 rather than from 1962 to 1963. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 23:13, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes; you're quite right. Have made corrections accordingly. Many thanks.

-Apologies, I saved the page before I had finished it. I want to add separate succesion boxes for Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Newfoundland, South Africa, India, Pakistan and Ceylon, but I'm not absolutely sure how. Any advice?

I'd argue that they're already covered by "King of the ... dominions", so I don't think they are necessary. DrKiernan (talk) 11:55, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

But nevertheless it wouldn't be incorrect to put that at all, particularly in light of the fact that with Elizabeth II's succession boxes, each of the nations she is/was queen of are covered.

-Also, there are some commonwealth realms he ceased to be king of during his reign as king of the UK, (ie India and Newfoundland) as well as new commonwealth realms/dominions being created during his reign(India, Pakistan, Ceylon), so to give it a blanket 'it says hes king of the dominions, that covers it' doesn't really make sense as he was king of india 1947-1950, but he was king of newfoundland 1936-1947, and he was king of pakistan from 1947-1952 and king of ceylon 1948-1952.

I think you've misunderstood. The succession boxes specifically relate to "Regnal titles" not to territories ruled. These have only been regnal titles in the reign of Elizabeth II. None of her predecessors used them. DrKiernan (talk) 12:27, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

-I'm well aware that titles such as 'King of canada', 'King of australia' etc. weren't used previous to Elizabeth II; her predeccesors being 'merely' 'King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of the British Dominions beyond the seas' but was unaware that the succession boxes related to titles and not territories. In which case, feel free to reverse my edits re. this.

T&T article[edit]

I agree with you that it was distinct from the nation that it is now, but I challenge the necessity for a standalone article. If it were to go to AfD, I'd be willing to wager that a result would either be redirect or merge into the existing article. Strikerforce (talk) 14:05, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

because there already were similar articles pertaining to pakistan, south africa, newfoundland, india and ceylon, unauthored by me, already on wikipedia, so why not for T&T?
Typically, other stuff exists is not a valid argument for keeping something around. Strikerforce (talk) 14:19, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

-I would disagree in this particular case. My intention was to create a page for each commonwealth realm that existed, regardless of length of this status.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Kenya (commonwealth realm). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - History_of_Kenya#Independence. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Deathcore,[edit]

I'm sorry if it seamed like I was making accusations towards you about you hating scene kids and stuff that seemed like personal, all those months ago, just because you made some edits on this page. You dissapeared off wikipedia for several months, had to assume you got bored or whatever, please accept my apology. But fair enough for the new edit with just being described as a fusion genre, I doubt there is any source that says that it's extreme metal, and hardcore punk straight up is quite contentious. The former royal house of France[edit]

Hello, you as the individual assigned to the house of Orleans are securities which it claims, but he was unsuccessful in the application to bring the full arms of France, the rule of succession to the throne of France can be challenged of course, but not the crests of the devolution of the legitimate heir of the full arms of France was the eldest of the house of Bourbon, Louis de Bourbon, on the other emblems of Orleans by the law is that of the Count of Paris other emblems in my opinion should be designated by their names, not the land of their so-called owner. You can answer me on my French page of Wikipedia. thank you [1] SanglierT — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.141.96.249 (talk) 14:53, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

'in my opinion' -there is absolutely no evidence that the other members of the House of Bourbon use different arms to the head; there is evidence regarding the House of Bourbon. If you have evidence regarding the House of Bourbon, please provide it, otherwise, kindly stop editing what I have put.JWULTRABLIZZARD (talk) 22:40, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you on the fact that the Spanish Bourbons and the Orleans claim separately in identical securities, notament the head of the House of France. That's why I think this page is intended to further explain the term of cadency of the house of France rather than to feed their dynastic quarrels. That is why I support the failure to place any name below the coats of arms.a moins que vous soyez en mesure de prouver qu'il ne peut y avoir aucune contestation sur ce titre de chef de la maison de france. unless you are able to prove that there can be no dispute on this as head of the house of France. Refer you please to respective page of the Count of Paris and the Duke of Anjou (Louis XX) and look on the internet you will see that there is a different between the two branches of the family. I do not think wikipedia is the place to highlight the dynastic claim one or the other. Thank you to give a more neutral than that which currently exists. cordially — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.141.96.249 (talk) 06:02, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't say there was 'no dispute' between the Orleans branch and the Bourbon branch; of course there is!But there is no evidence to show that anyone from the Bourbon branch uses differenced versions of the royal arms. In fact, 'Louis XX' does not use the plain arms of France (Azure, three fleur-de-lys or), he uses the arms of France (Azure, three Fleur-De-Lys Or)divided per pale with those of Spain (Quarterly, 1.Argent, a Castle Or, (Castile) 2, a Lion rampantPurpure (Leon)3,Paly of seven or and gules (Aragon) 4, gules, a chain or, in the centre, an emerald proper,(Navarre), in base, a pomegranete slipped and leaved or (Granada))

HOWEVER, there is evidence to show that the Orleans branch uses cadency as regards the arms used by its members: http://www.heraldica.org/topics/france/roygenea.htm

as regards 'placing the names', I am more than willing to put which members of both branches use what arms. Say, for example, if the arms of the eldest son of 'Louis XX' can be proven to be the same as the Orleanist 'Dauphin', I will gladly add his name, details, and information regarding the dispute underneath the respective arms. It is only fair.JWULTRABLIZZARD (talk) 14:06, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ok i agree with you, just put the title betwin " " because for all its pretention but not possession of this different title. See for Louis de Bourbon, "king of France" and [2], for his first son Louis, "duke of Burgundy" and it's second son Alphonse "duke of Berry". And for the title of duke of Anjou see this page Counts and dukes of Anjou its very very very intresting to understand a part of the different betwin the two branchs of the Bourbon familly. As for the claims of these two families, one can conclude without any doubt that the elder is Louis de Bourbon, is what it puts in mind for each of the succession in his opinion. But I think that we should not introduce Orleans (or Bourbon) as heir of the kings of France if it is clearly biased. Here feel free to ask me question if I am not quite clear. If you can on my talk page. thank you [3] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.141.96.249 (talk) 15:02, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Monarchy of India[edit]

Hi there how are you?

Do you think that the Emperor of India article should be merged with this article Monarchy of India?

I think it should because they are both the same. I know that the Emperor of India was a title within the British Monarchy.

So do you tink it is a good idea?

Mr Hall of England (talk) 15:30, 28 December 2012 (UTC) No, leave it as it is. Although the Emperor/Empress of India title was of course allusive to the British Crown attaining sovereignty over India (and indeed the royal proclaimation in which it was adopted said exactly that); India nonetheless remained British territory; albeit the largest chunk of it. By all means add a link to the 'Emperor of India' page.JWULTRABLIZZARD (talk) 00:00, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

royal houses doubt[edit]

I am grouping List_of_royal_houses#Americas. Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago all go together under commonwealth realms? Do I need to separate some of them into a separate group? -Enric Naval (talk) 13:05, 30 December 2012 (UTC) -In fact a few more countries need to be.added to that list:Barbados, The Bahamas, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize and St. Christopher and Nevis are all also presently commonwealth realms. You are correct in saying that all the countries on your above list are commonwealth realms; but Trinidad and Tobago isn' t now-it became a republic in 1976. Other countries that were formerly commonwealth realms (or the earlier term, dominion) in the Americas were Guyana (1966-1970), and Newfoundland (1907-1949)JWULTRABLIZZARD (talk) 16:05, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Commonwealth realms[edit]

I have created all the articles of the Commonwealth realms.

The only ones I have not done are:

  • Fiji - There is the article but I want to make it the same as the other realms.
  • Ireland - I planned to created on article of the Monarchs from 1171 to the end of the Irish Free State.
  • Newfoundland - The is an article but as a Canadian province.

What do you think? I would like to work with you on these?

Your "Armorial" articles[edit]

Please make the distinction between an article about an (existing) armorial, and a page which is an armorial made by yourself. Place articles about notable armorials in Category:Armorials. Lists of coats of arms compiled by yourself:

I would also recommend naming the "list of coats of arms of..." not "armorial of...", because the latter title suggests you are describing, not compiling, an armorial. Thank you. --dab (𒁳) 07:58, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dominion of Pakistan[edit]

Regarding your edit here, the dominion of Pakistan was succeeded by both East and West Pakistan, which was at that time known as Pakistan(United), but after the secession of East Pakistan, only West Pakistan was left, and the article of Pakistan refers to the modern day West Pakistan only, so I have also added East Pakistan, as modern day Pakistan does not refer to East Pakistan. Hope you get it, Anyway, if you any further problem to discuss, you are welcome at my talk! Faizan (talk) 08:59, 27 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

-No; that's completely incorrect. There is absolutely no constitutional difference between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan 1956-1971 and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan 1971-the present day, it just happens that 1956-1971, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan included East Pakistan, whereas know it does not. There was no such constitutional entity as 'Pakistan(United)', this was an informal designation that did not officially exist.

East Pakistan and West Pakistan were merely Provinces of Pakistan; they were not sovereign states in their own right, and thus should not be listed as successor states.

Furthermore, Pakistan became a republic in 1956, but the provinces of East Pakistan and West Pakistan were created in 1955. So that means that East Pakistan and West Pakistan could not possibly succeed the Dominion of Pakistan because not only did they exist whilst Pakistan was still a monarchy and dominion, they were parts of it.

Speedy deletion nomination of Juan de García y Montenegro[edit]

Hello JWULTRABLIZZARD,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Juan de García y Montenegro for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

Edit summaries, multiple consecutive edits[edit]

Hello JW, and thanks for providing a reason for your edit to Duchy of Normandy. A couple suggestions for you to consider that will make it easier for us all to work together:

  • Please make a habit of providing an edit summary when you make a change to an article. Doing so makes it easier for your colleagues here to understand the intention of your edit.
  • Plus, it will be easier for you and your co-editors to collaborate on articles if, instead of making multiple consecutive edits in rapid succession on an article, you use the "Show preview" button to view your changes incrementally before finally saving the page once you're satisfied with your edits. This keeps the page history of the article less cluttered.

Thanks in advance for considering these suggestions. Eric talk 15:40, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on National Order of Merit of Mauritania requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Proposed deletion of List of personal coats of arms of Governors-General of Ghana[edit]

The article List of personal coats of arms of Governors-General of Ghana has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced and not enough text to keep.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JWULTRABLIZZARD, this is a dead link. Do you have any other references to support this article? Liz Read! Talk! 14:53, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Liz: I was curious about this one as well, since it does not translate to anything I've heard of. Poking around I found no:Kong Olav Vs portrettnål (lit.'Portrait needle of King Olav V'); it may or may not be a match, the colour description is the same:
enwiki: "Order was Red, bordered white with a blue fimbriation along the white border."
nowiki: "red with narrow stripes in white, blue and white at the edges." (trans.)
Sources are hard to find if you search for both terms. Comments, JWULTRABLIZZARD? Sam Sailor Talk! 20:55, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

First; it's not a dead link:

http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.co.uk/2011/09/royal-splendor-101-royal-family-orders.html. JWULTRABLIZZARD (talk) 13:17, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Secondly; the ribbon; as seen as a service ribbon and on the Royal Family Order of King Haakon VII to the far right:

Curiously is the same for all three Norwegian Royal Family Orders, (as well as the Order of St. Olav, and the St.Olavs Medal which are entirely separate awards); in this picture of Princess Ragnhild, Mrs Lorentzen; on the bottom right; the late sister of the Present King, she is shown wearing the Royal Family Order of her father, King Olav V, with the same ribbon as used on the Order of her grandfather, King Haakon VII:

-And is absolutely red, with a white border, with a blue fimbriation, as stated in the article. Or to use layman's terms, a blue stripe.

Comments, everyone?JWULTRABLIZZARD (talk) 13:43, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You reverted my original edit on Ten Days' Campaign to change "William of Orange" to "William, Prince of Orange". I agree there is a certain confusion over the Dutch penchant for naming their monarchs exactly the same thing, but when you say "Unless one clicks on the link, 'William of Orange' could refer to William the Silent, any of the Stadtholders of the Netherlands called 'William' as well as any of the subsequent heirs-apparent to the Dutch throne" I am afraid I disagree. William of Orange is exactly the same as "William, Prince of Orange" as you will see if you look at the full titles of William the Silent, William II, Prince of Orange etc. There certainly is confusion (as you mentioned), but this is not avoided by adding an extra word. Indeed, the only difference is that "William of Orange" fits, conveniently, on one line of the infobox... —Brigade Piron (talk) 15:43, 12 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Arnau Roger de Pallars[edit]

Hello, JWULTRABLIZZARD. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Arnau Roger de Pallars".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Notice

The article List of personal coats of arms of Presidents of Haiti has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Only three of these men have coats of arms, and none later than 1849, so I doubt any more will arise. The one for Henri Christophe looks like it was the coat of arms for the whole kingdom rather than Christophe's personal arms; ditto for Faustin Soulouque. That leaves Jean-Louis Pierrot's (very cool) coat of arms as the only personal one on this list, which means it falls quite short of out guideline for stand-alone lists.

While I appreciate that the page has long been deleted, it's perhaps worth pointing out that in a monarchy, there is a convention that the arms of state (or 'arms of Dominion') are one and the same, i.e. they do not have 'personal arms' as such, and any arms they did bear prior to their accession as monarch cease to be used in favour of the arms of dominion instead.JWULTRABLIZZARD (talk) 17:07, 3 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC(talk) 01:33, 7 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The article List of coats of arms of governors-general of Canada has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notice

The article Armorial of Governors-General of Ceylon has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:N and some other guidelines and policies, like being a trivial intersection of characteristics, and a gallery. People have a personal (or family) coat of arms, and are governor-general: neither has a bearing on the other, the combination doesn't provide any additional information or insight.
