How To Save OBOT

[edit]

It's not Wikipedia's job to help spread things. Encyclopaedias document things that are already notable; get it famous elsehow first, then it might merit an article. Why not copy the article text into a userpage and then you can rewrite it as it becomes more significantly reported "in the wild". You'll know the article is improved when it has a reference to some source(s) that have reported it to some wide audience (a school newspaper isn't usually very notable except for some larger universities or what-have-you), and when it's no longer feasible to list all "constant members" (because there are too many).

The current article will very probably be deleted, and rightly so, but if you are serious about having an article in then you should brush up on how to do it first. The most important point is establishing notability, which necessarily can't be done within the bounds of Wikipedia itself. (Also there's the question of a conflict of interests, since you appear to be one of the creators. A really notable topic could usually have its article written by an uninvolved party.) --Grey Knight 03:21, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In case you missed it at the top of the page when you were aditing the plot, here it is again:

ATTENTION! PLEASE READ BEFORE EDITING! Please present potential changes to this section in the Discussion area prior to making them, as consensus has been reached on a number of issues that tend to be repeated here.

The article is at GA status, so every little bit that gets affed to the article needs to be seen and approved of by the ediotrs in the Discussion area. My edit summary might have seemed harsh; I tend to get that way when people ignore or miss suggestions to make things run more smoothly. Arcayne 19:07, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
