He vandaled again 10 july

He vandaled pages

  • Sin Senos no hay Paraiso
  • Pecados Ajenos
  • Marina (Telemundo series)

ans some actor or actress page I reverted the three vandalizms and hope this will be enough to block him of cause I'm tires already —Preceding unsigned comment added by Siachoquero (talkcontribs) 18:41, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

Reported. We'll see what happens. --JaGa (talk) 22:29, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

He Continues vandaling

Wel he vandaled

  • Telemundo Studios
  • Pecados Ajenos (after your warning)
  • Catherine Siachoque
  • Tierra de Pasiones

I think he doesn't even care abput warnings and doesn't read them. He's a vandal and only doing this making people nervious nothing else but what he doesn't know is that I have guarded all the pages I edit in Word docuemnts evry time I edit them so as muhc as vandal things he does I'll always correct them so let's see who's best in edit war as you said.

sorry for not so good english hehe —Preceding unsigned comment added by Siachoquero (talkcontribs) 12:20, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

I reverted some vandalism that was missed, and gave him a final warning. One more instance and he can be reported to WP:AIV and get blocked again, hopefully for a longer time. If you find he's vandalized again, and notify me, and I don't respond on my page, please notify another user (or make the AIV report yourself) so the IP gets caught quickly. If there's a big time lag between his last vandalism and my reading your message, the admins may refuse to block him because he isn't currently active. --JaGa (talk) 20:32, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

This person continues vandalism please help

the person last week making vandalism to Catherine Siachoque page and other actrices pages now is vandalind Pecados Ajenos page please just block him for good sake I'm tired of reverting it's vandalizms pleaseeeee —Preceding unsigned comment added by Siachoquero (talkcontribs) 11:29, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

I dont' have the power to block vandals - I can only report them to admins, and only after the vandal has been warned three times. It's pretty frustrating with vandalism-only IPs like this one, but those are the rules. I found and reverted his latest vandalism, though, and gave him a couple of warnings for it. So a couple more times and I'll have him blocked again. Thanks for letting me know he was active again - otherwise at least one of his fake edits would've slipped through. --JaGa (talk) 19:08, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

What?

My last edit to Sarah Obama was not vandalism.

The articles I've seen say "Sarah Anyango Obama", except for the USA Today article which uses "Sarah Hussein Obama". I'd like to see another reference before putting it in. --JaGa (talk) 02:35, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Why do you think I put the question mark in because it looked good? Don't call people vandals jst because you don't like the facts they've added. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.143.4.202 (talk) 02:43, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
I could care less what Obama's grandmother's middle name is. But I see several articles that say its Anyango, and one that says Hussein. So I reverted. And I assumed your edit was in good faith; otherwise I would have warned you on your talk page. --JaGa (talk) 02:58, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

This Vandal doesn't stop

He made vandal changes to Catherine Siachoque again, I've corrected but it'll be very good to block him god. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Siachoquero (talkcontribs) 22:47, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

a person is changing Catherine Siachoque page badly please stop him or her.

I didn't change anything the birthdate is 1972 and I'm familiar of Catherine Siachoque.

Hi could you help me correct this edit, I am trying to add the informatin correctly and am being blocked...I have no idea how to unblock or where too. I only e-mail you because yur name shows up on my talk. {{Help}}(Margaret wendt) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Margaret wendt (talkcontribs) 16:03, July 1, 2008 (UTC)

  • The page is protected right now, but that will be taken away soon, so you won't be blocked forever. What do you want to change in the page? Why did you blank it? I can certainly advise you about proper edits (but it could take a little time, I'll be away from the computer from time to time today). --JaGa (talk) 20:27, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi --JaGa, I did not blanck the page on purpose I was trying to correct a coding error, column error. Who ever edited the version in place now has removed documented history, i was trying to correct it. --Margaret wendt

  • No problem. Is the history sourced? BTW the easy way to sign a comment is to put --~~~~ (that's 2 dashes followed by 4 tildes) at the end of your comment. --JaGa (talk) 22:30, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Cameron Page

I edited the Cameron page to remove the reference to him being a douche bag. How is that not constructive? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 171.67.100.179 (talk) 18:47, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

  • I reviewed the diff and didn't see where you removed any vandalism. All I saw was mostly removal of references to his Christianity and the change of the word "conversely" to "donversely". --JaGa (talk) 18:55, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

My apologies

I didn't realize how stringent the rules were regarding biographic entries. I guess the subjectivity of the term "significance" threw me for a loop. Sorry! ShadowSunOne (talk) 07:14, 13 June 2008 (UTC)ShadowSunOne

Good job catching that vandalism. I had overlooked it when keeping an eye on an anon vandal who thought they were cute. Keep up the good work. youngamerican (wtf?) 02:24, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Your first barnstar

The Working Wikipedian's Barnstar
For spending so much time, adding all those links to Ohio villages manually, as if you were a bot. Nyttend 15:41, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Such a thing can be done with a bot: look at the article history of virtually any US place, and you'll see that most of the earliest edits were done by usernames of "____bot". I don't know about you, but I know nothing about running a bot. If you do, by all means write one and seek to get approval (look here for the bot policy): it will help us all, I'm sure. Noise Reduction

Hi there. I use Neatimage which does a much better job than photoshop in my opinion. I've heard Noise Ninja is also good but I haven't really investigated it much to be honest. Hope that helps. Diliff | (Talk) (Contribs) 21:00, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Downsampling

Hi again. Well, downsampling by definition should increase the sharpness, not decrease it. There isn't any real secret to how I do it. I downsample it using Photoshop CS3 using the default settings (but Elements should do just as good a job) and then, if it needs it, sharpen it with around 50% strength and a radius of about 0.7 which generally gives it a good sharpening without creating too much of a halo around the edges. Do you have any examples of where it has decreased the sharpness by downsampling? Diliff | (Talk) (Contribs) 19:30, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Munsell-system.svg

I was going to nominate your Munsell-system.svg image as a Featured Picture when I saw it had already been nominated - and was turned down. I was surprised they complained that one couldn't understand it at a glance - I DID understand it at a glance, and was so happy with its effectiveness I wanted to nominate it. Oh well, just wanted to let you know it's an excellent illustration and thanks. JaGa 06:07, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! Still a ways to go for Munsell color system to be a good article—I tracked down several articles about its history, etc., but never got around to incorporating them—but it's sure vastly better than it was a year ago. --jacobolus (t) 10:01, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Also, this is unrelated, but w.r.t. color theory, "lightness" and "value" mean basically the same thing, so your change to that article doesn't really affect its accuracy. :) --jacobolus (t) 10:48, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Citizenship and nationality

Thanks for supporting the Citizenship and nationality guideline that I have proposed. I have responded to your comments. I would appreciate it if you would indicate your support in the 'Request for comment' section as well. The original title of your contribution, "This is exactly what we need!", indicated your support, but SMcCandlish changed it to "What about ethnicity?". – SJL 20:05, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Malaysia

Hi, can you please let me know why you reverted my revert of the actions of an anon who removed the whole Education section in Malaysia ? Without edit summaries it is extremely hard to know why you did what you did. Thanks. --Ubardak (talk) 07:57, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Shoot, my bad

Looks like I missed an undead entry in Philipsburg, Montana. I'm not a vandal, I swear! Casull (talk) 09:42, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Oh yeah, remember to CTRL+F "undead" in the reverts! I'm currently copy/pasting the correct dialog and just pasting that in, it beats undo in times like these. Casull (talk) 09:57, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, an RFPP was the best way to go; two users reported it, actually. I wonder what incited that vandalism... probably a youtube video or something. :/ · AndonicO Hail! 10:16, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

World Tourism rankings

Thanks for fix the vandlism on the World Tourism Organization article. If you have time, could you expand the contents in the World Tourism rankings? AIV

Thank you for making a report about 209.175.58.2 (talk · contribs · block log) on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:32, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

In-line citations?

User:JaGa -- You were right to notice mistakes in the in-line citations in Emperor Jimmu; however, I disagreed with some elements of your "clean-up" edits -- see Talk:Emperor Jimmu#In-line citations?. Fighting vandalism

Hi, I'm currently fighting vandalism and I would like to know how VP is being used. Any ideas, suggestions, advice, etc? ~ Thanks!

Prowikipedians (talk) 07:28, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

On the idea of fighting vandalism: you reported 212.121.193.252 for vandalism to Birkenhead after the final warning, but the Birkenhead vandalism was actually a minute before the final warning was given. I've blocked, but only because the IP committed yet more vandalism afterward. Not trying to nag or anything, but could you go a little faster? Nyttend (talk) 12:17, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
I'm well aware it's difficult; I ended up blocking one before other admins got to the rest. My apology in turn: I was simply trying to get stuff done and didn't pay attention to the IP's history, other than to note its last two vandalisms. Nyttend (talk) 12:28, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Oh, no hard feelings for sure :-) I've known being stressed out; you can see Jay S. Thomas, on which I had to make a personal phone call to Illinois to sort out matters (see discussion here, or Dr. Jacob Varkey, in which an Iowan vandal pretended to be two different California professors at loggerheads with each other :-) Nyttend (talk) 13:08, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing Ideal gas law

Hi, thanks for properly reverting Ideal gas law. I knew that the last edits were vandalism, but then I got lost trying to figure out which was a good version. I was still mulling it over when you took care of it. I appreciate your stepping in!  ‑ MANdARAX XAЯAbИAM  (talk)  06:14, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Rollback

Hi JaGa, just a quick note to let you know I've added Rollback to your account - please make sure to read Wikipedia:Rollback and Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback, making sure to only use it for reverting blatant vandalism. Let me know if you have any issues at all... oh, and you have some beautiful images on Commons! :) Alex Muller 06:44, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Great! Thanks for the Rollback and thanks for the Commons comment! --JaGa (talk) 07:23, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

Erroneous warning

I believe that your warning to my page was in error (this was my edit: [1]). Gail Wilson (talk) 20:20, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Yeah, it was. We probably both reverted at the same time and you came in a fraction of a second before me. Sorry about that. --JaGa (talk) 20:22, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
  • No problem, no offence taken :) Gail Wilson (talk) 20:23, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

And now for something completely different

Hello,

I've noticed you're currently active, and that is the sole criteria for this message. I need a completely neutral party in a debate to take a screenshot of a Wikipedia project and upload it (I'm an administrator and will delete the image, no worries about leaving garbage behind). Would you be so kind as to do this? Should you decline, please do so explicitly so I can pick on another random victim. :-) Thank you! --Gutza T T+ 21:16, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

No problem, thank you for replying. Good night! Bon appetit! --Gutza T T+ 21:22, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

National Anthem of Mexico

Sorry if was not you the one who added the info about Colombians singing the national anthem of mexico in japan, but I saw the history of the article.

I read that news and I let a comment in the talk of the article. I found it illogic and I think that is a spam article. There is not other information to give authority to that article. Unusual that Japanese policemen ask that in a Non-Spanish country, dont you think? would you ask to any Asian to sing the national anthem of China just to see if they are Chinese or not? if I were them, I could sing any song of Juanes putting my hand on my heart and surely the Japanese policemen would believe how "Mexican" I were. Greetings and gracias. --Albeiror24 (talk) 05:11, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Peter Gabriel

Hello, I was hoping I could ask a favor of you. Recently I've found a number of edits originating from either 72.224.49.240 or Jman505 that have been changing chart positions on certain articles, mostly Peter Gabriel but also some by Sting and Level 42. I spent a good amount of time trying to restore the Peter Gabriel discography page to the way it was before the edits (and doing it the long way, since I'm not all that experienced yet), only to have these people (or possibly same person) change everything back. I noticed your name on the talk page for the IP address, which is why I'm asking for your assistance. Maybe the edits are intentionally creating false chart positions to make it look like Peter had more hits, or maybe a different chart is being referenced - I don't know. My point of reference is the Billboard Book of Top 40 Hits. I'd like to think they are trying to improve the articles, but I'm growing suspicious. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Zephyrnthesky (talk) 02:30, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Many thanks for your efforts, JaGa. Unfortunately, none of my chart references are on line, I'm just using the aforementioned book for most of them (Billboard Hot 100 positions, anyway). Speaking of which, I think one may have slipped by on that discography page..."Shakin' the Tree" (1989) is listed as peaking at #40 on the Hot 100, but if that were the case it would be in my book, as are all Top 40 singles up through 1995. Peter Gabriel has five singles listed: "Shock the Monkey" (#29); "Sledgehammer" (#1)(1 week); "In Your Eyes" (#26); "Big Time" (#8); and "Steam" (#32). When I attempted to fix it last week, I just used the previously listed peaks, before the edits by the one or two individuals, and assumed they were right. This whole thing started when I heard Sting's "Englishman in New York" on the radio, remembered how great it was and looked it up on wikipedia, only to realize that somebody was (probably) inflating chart positions for songs they liked. I'm almost sorry I got mixed up in all this, but I'm glad a couple of you who are more experienced around here (you and Abrazame) are on top of it. Thanks again, and sorry my reply is so long. Zephyrnthesky (talk) 18:31, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

George Carlin revert

66.214.233.147 is not me, but was the first to edit George Carlin's page to include his date and location of death. You reverted it within a minute, and never left anything on the user's talk page. He or she was right, as the avalanche of later edits and news articles would explicitly suggest. Most damning is not the revert itself - at the time the user didn't include a source - though you could arguably have sought one yourself, but the fact you didn't even bother to tell the user why. That was wrong. You were wrong.

71.164.0.10 (talk) 06:09, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Nah, he was completely right to remove that without a source. That's the way WP:BLP works. Even if was searching for a source himself, JaGa would have been correct to revert the edit until it could be confirmed.
As for not leaving an edit summary, perhaps he was busy. Personally, I don't bother leaving messages on the pages of IP addresses unless I can clearly see the IP address is being used by the same user for quite a while. Otherwise, you're just leaving a message for a user who will change IPs and never get it. Dayewalker (talk) 06:22, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
