Brexit Party colour

Hey. Thanks for the edit. I wasn't sure about the colour initially so chose a small-c conservative blue. It seemed to fit. If there's a more appropriate colour we should go for that, obviously. Let's all keep an eye on it. doktorb wordsdeeds 21:28, 14 February 2019 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Israel Green Movement logo.png

Thank you for uploading File:Israel Green Movement logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Parliament of Canada

The file for Parliament of Canada is incorrectly coloured. Currently there is a coalition between the Liberals and the New Democrats. Henceforth, the red and orange boxes should be on one side, with all other colours on the other side. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:569:BDFB:9600:E0A7:470:AC32:1175 (talk) 07:22, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

There isn't a coalition between the Liberals and the NDP. The diagram matches the seating plan of the House of Commons, which has an equal number of seats on each side. JackWilfred (talk) 21:17, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

Bundestag-Article

Hey JackWilfred! I completely agree with you that consensus is crucial. But please note that this question was settled in the transition period between the 17th and 18th Bundestag, as you can see on the talk-page, and that my edit from yesterday thus corresponds to the "standard procedure". Best regards Alektor89 (talk) 14:13, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

Hello Alektor. Please accept my apologies, I had immediately scrolled to the bottom to look for a discussion to change the typical stance not to change until the new legislature sits, and so missed it. JackWilfred (talk) 14:18, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

Dove Windsor

Dove Rose Windsor A.K.A. DIVM0NDQU33N (DIAMOND QUEEN) is a British anime artist, music producer and gamer from Leicestershire, England.

This person does exist! 82.23.69.143 (talk) 20:25, 3 September 2022 (UTC)

Would it be a coincidence that your IP address places you in Leicestershire, England? If you are Dove, WP:BIOSELF states clearly that you should not make edits that concern yourself. In any case, there are no reliable sources that say Windsor is in a relationship with Jenny Ryan. JackWilfred (talk) 21:15, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
I actually do work with Ed Annunziata (I originally didn't co-create Ecco), hoping to revive Ecco the Dolphin games. Annunziata follows me on Twitter, and we're discussing about making future Ecco games. And, about Jenny Ryan, I'm not dating her, but wished I did, as she's my crush. Hope that clears everything. -- 82.23.69.143 (talk) 21:41, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
I am working on creating The Little Blue game with Ed Annunziata, as it's a spin-off to Ecco the Dolphin! --82.23.69.143 (talk) 21:41, 3 September 2022 (UTC)

SV party color

Hello! I saw there have been some changes to the color code of the Socialist Left Party recently, and that you changed the color to a very dark red due to accessibility issues. The change is very understandable because, as you say, the colors of Ap, SV, and R are all very similar. But as a Norwegian, the dark red or even brown-ish color for SV really seemed jarring to me, as it's not the one used customarily and it's generally not the one associated with SV. I checked their website right now just to double-check, and it seems they have indeed started using a very dark red on there, so this would be a good argument to use such a color.

However, the customary color in Norwegian media and other sources is a pinkish or purplish red; oftentimes SV's color is shown as lighter than that of both Ap and R. I don't have any preference when it comes to which particular shade the color should be, as this often varies. But the color definitely ought to be changed to something ranging from pinkish to purplish red, as, again, those tones are the customary ones that we use for them domestically. Back in the early 2000s, before R was a major player, Labor was usually shown in plain red whilst SV was shown in a much darker red or maroon color not too dissimilar from the one you have changed it to, but this has not been the case in many years now. I'm going to link some sources to various sites so you can see some of the common variants yourself, and I hope we can find one that lets the party stand out visibly from the aforementioned two. Please let me know how you think we should proceed, cheers!

Example one, two, three, four, and five. Μαρκος Δ 22:11, 22 September 2022 (UTC)

Hello! I saw that somebody had changed SV to their official red, and made it impossible to distinguish between the three of Ap, SV and R. I went for the very dark red as a way to keep a customary colour but keep it "official", and it works well at separating Ap and R in diagrams (I remember accessibility concerns came up in 2017 with the three reds that was never truly resolved), so I didn't look to change those (also I feel having a party called 'Red' not be red would be strange).
I agree with you that it's a bit of a jarring solution though, as it looks almost black on some screens, and I'd be happy to go back to purple-red.   #992969 from Dagbladet would work pretty well at that and would potentially address the accessibility concerns (although I have no way of testing that), but I'm also happy just to revert it. JackWilfred (talk) 22:33, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
Hi again, thanks for the swift reply! Yes, the change that was done before yours was a little problematic, and it really is such a tough decision when there are three red parties involved. I think your suggestion would be a really good compromise and I would definitely support that. Personally I would probably favor the NRK version   #D94ABF, since NRK is the state broadcaster; I checked their previous election coverage from both 2017 and 2021, and they have been using the same color consistently over the years, which is always a plus. It gave me the idea of checking the Storting website too, but they seem to steer clear of party colors in general. Anyway, I would be fine with either the Dagbladet version or the NRK version, unless you think that one, too, could potentially cause any problems down the line. Μαρκος Δ 00:47, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
I'm going to go with the darker shade because I try to avoid situations like Socialist Party (Portugal), which uses a very bright shade of pink that looks a bit strange on the modern internet. I do agree though that lifting a customary colour directly from a source is probably making a statement as to the "official"-ness of it, so I've made a new shade,   #B5317C, for it, mostly a darker shade of what we had before. JackWilfred (talk) 01:11, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
Yes, that one's very nice and I think it's better than both the other options. Thanks for the discussion :) Μαρκος Δ 01:15, 23 September 2022 (UTC)

Making SVG Party Logos

Hello JackWilfred, thank you so much for making a SVG logo for the Nordkalottfolket article! I was wondering how you, and other Wikipedians go about making them for future reference and use. I was meaning to create them to update certain articles with the ideal SVG (rather than JPG or PNG) political party logos. I would really appreciate some pointers and resources if you have any to share! Thank you so much in advance for your time! Ornithoptera (talk) 22:29, 21 October 2022 (UTC)
