Hi Jacknpoy. Re your edit here, your claim that "Every other noted singer/composer shows their education in their WK profile box." seems a little strong, especially as "education" is not a parameter currently allowed in the infobox template. And I wonder could you explain to me where exactly that information appears in the infoboxes of your examples - John Legend, Allison Williams (actress) and Irene Cara? As I can't see it. Instead of edit warring, it might be a good idea if you contributed at the discussion, which I mentioned in my original revert, at Template talk:Infobox musical artist to see if there is an easy of adding in its own infobox entry line. Many thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 17:15, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure what you mean by "parameter not currently allowed in the infobox"? If that is the case, how did the infobox of famous singers John Legend, Allison Williams (actress) and Irene Cara contain their "education"??? See their "alma mater" in their respective infobox. I hope I am doing this reply correctly, as I have never responded to any WK post before.Jacknpoy (talk) 17:44, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, perfectly correctly, thanks. Ah, right. if all you want to do is add Alma mater i.e. University, just use the "Alma mater" parameter. I thought you wanted to also give basic education as well and to add it all directly after place of birth. The problem is that you will have to change the Infobox musical artist to Infobox person, as the first does not use "Alma mater". I was asking over at that Template Talk page to see if there was a way to keep the same template but to also add in "Alma mater" somehow. Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 17:57, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I am not sure how to convert to Infobox person (unless you wanted to do it yourself). Doing so on my own might just mess up the entire infobox, so I will wait to hear back from you if we could keep the same template but only add in "Alma mater." That would be the best and simplest way to do it.Jacknpoy (talk) 18:47, 29 April 2018 (UTC).[reply]
No worries. Keep an eye open at the thread at Template talk:Infobox musical artist#Education. Somebody clever may know how to do it. Martinevans123 (talk) 18:54, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Will do. Thanks.Jacknpoy (talk) 19:00, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Have now added. And User:JJMC89 has very kindly show us how to do it properly. I think the infoboxes for many other musical artists might benefit from this tweak. Martinevans123 (talk) 19:47, 5 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your help, User talk:Martinevans123. Thank you also to User:JJMC89 for showing us how to do it without compromising or messing up the entire infobox. I just saw it upon my return from an overseas trip and am glad it is all done.Jacknpoy (talk) 16:01, 7 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitration[edit]

I have filed an arbitration case Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case § McGill University regarding our edit war over the inclusion of "coeducational" in the lead.

Hi Jacknpoy, I have removed (declined) this arbitration case as premature. If you have a dispute regarding the content of an article, please use structured discussion on the talk page between the disputing editors. However, requests for comment, third opinions and other venues are available if discussion alone does not yield a consensus. The dispute resolution noticeboard exists as a first point of call for disputes that are not resolved by discussion, and the Mediation Committee provides formal mediation for advanced content disputes. Thank you for your help. For the Arbitration Committee, Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 19:38, 26 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
We have had more than enough discussion (see entire edit history) so we would like to go to requests for comment, third opinions to obtain consensus. Since I need to present the points I raised and have never gone for any consensus/third opinion before, please create proper venue and advise on how to proceed. Thanks, KevinJacknpoy (talk) 22:24, 26 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
