Changing quotes

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Giorgia_Meloni&diff=prev&oldid=1238735664

Please dont change quotes (eg "I'm" -> "I am"), see MOS:QUOTE --FMSky (talk) 19:38, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@FMSky: you're right, but you have removed all my edits, even the useful ones. Could you remove only my error concerning quotes and not all my changes? Thank you. JacktheBrown (talk) 20:11, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There's a thread about "M.bitton" on ANI now

Hi, hope you're doing well! There's now a thread on ANI about this person on ANI (by other people) now Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents - Wikipedia. Just in case you didn't notice and would like to have a look / add anything. Fanny.doutaz (talk) 21:27, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Fanny.doutaz: thank you, but according to Wikipedia rules this isn't permitted; see: WP:CANVASSING. JacktheBrown (talk) 00:10, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I didn't know this was not permitted, thanks for letting me know! Fanny.doutaz (talk) 05:28, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Fanny.doutaz: I advise you to take a break and carefully read Wikipedia:List of policies. JacktheBrown (talk) 10:07, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JackkBrown thanks again :) will do Fanny.doutaz (talk) 10:09, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:List of policies is very complete. JacktheBrown (talk) 10:12, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Obviously also carefully read all the links on the page; with experience everything will be easier, for now it's very difficult to learn all this. JacktheBrown (talk) 10:30, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've suggested it be added to Twinkle welcome messages. Doug Weller talk 10:54, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Doug Weller: wonderful! JacktheBrown (talk) 12:03, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dear M.Bitton, I reverted your edit (here) because there's no point in doing it on all my comments. I assure you that all users have realised that I was (I'm not at fault) improperly invited into the discussion. What's the point of repeating it so many times? JacktheBrown (talk) 14:42, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've seen you changed the Fiat logo reverting to the old version (here), but that change is incorrect, because I made that edit based on the Fiat website (global). Even the Italian site shows the logo in colors.

Therefore I got back to that logo. If you have some disagreement with that, please leave a message at the article's talk page. Thanks, Fma12 (talk) 19:49, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Fma12: "If you have some disagreement with that, please leave a message at the article's talk page."  Done; see: Talk:Fiat. JacktheBrown (talk) 12:48, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Parma rosa sauce

I see that you removed mention of parma rosa sauce from the penne alla vodka article. Note that a quick Google search confirms that this sauce is real. While Knorr is the most well-known brand, there are others too. Trader Joe's recently released their own vodka-less pink sauce known as Rosatella. Also, there is a local Italian restaurant near my house that has a pink sauce called Sunrise Sauce, which I always order with my chicken parmigiana. I think there should be some mention of pink sauces without vodka. ANDROS1337TALK 20:46, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Andros 1337: if you think it's correct to restore this information, you can do it without problems.
"Also, there is a local Italian restaurant near my house that has a pink sauce called Sunrise Sauce, which I always order with my chicken parmigiana." Italian-American restaurant, not Italian; chicken parmigiana isn't an Italian food. JacktheBrown (talk) 21:48, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
