Slieve League

[edit]

I still find the new picture no real improvement, but your former picture (that recoloured postcard) was absolutely horrible. However, the original picture was exactly the way I have seen the Slieve League in 2009. The Banner talk 12:36, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Here's a picture I took of it in March of last year. Looks pretty similar to the second picture I changed it to. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree if you think that the more modern picture currently in the infobox is "no real improvement" on a blurry image from 2005. Jacobfrid (talk) 13:11, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You mean a rather foggy day. But as you said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I can only hope that when somebody reverts your choice that we don't decent into an editwar. The Banner talk 13:28, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"You mean a rather foggy day."

There are many stunning landscapes in Ireland which look just as nice on rainy days as they do under blue skies. But an 89 kilobyte image from fourteen years ago (2007, apologies, not 2005) that doesn't even show the entire cliff face just ain't it chief. An edit war is the last thing I want but if someone does revert my edit back to the old picture I will strongly rebuke them in their talk page. Jacobfrid (talk) 13:41, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

But a newer picture is not always better. The Banner talk 13:43, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

County Donegal

[edit]

Hi, in this edit you introduced two undefined sfn references. "Delany 2004" and "Dundurn 2000". As they are undefined nobody can look them up for verification. They also cause the article to appear in Category:Harv and Sfn no-target errors. DuncanHill (talk) 01:22, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have added them into Further Reading in the article. --Jacobfrid (talk) 01:25, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That's great, thank you. DuncanHill (talk) 01:26, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You removed two weather tables from this article without any replacement claiming it is outdated. Many similar geographic articles have a weather table and I very much doubt the current statistics are very different to the ones you removed. Please replace it because it is rather significant and is hardly outdated just not updated. Such tables have been a feature of this article since its featured article promotion and later review, so perhaps instead of removing it you could provide a more up to date weather table. ww2censor (talk) 22:42, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've put in updated versions for Dublin and Belfast. Perhaps a table like this would be more apt? It is only for the Republic but could easily be expanded to include N. Ireland's climate records too, seeing as it represents the whole island rather than just two cities with relatively similar climates. Jacobfrid (talk) 23:42, 7 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Weather and unsourced changes

[edit]

Please stop adding weather boxes that are not related to the settlement in question. Weather data for Belfast International Airport have no bearing or relation to Belfast, with it being about 10 mile away from Belfast. Additionally I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Canterbury Tail talk 19:55, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
