Million plus cities

I had developed the Template:Million-plus cities in India based on data of Census Commission of India on the web. The back up was List of million-plus cities in India. Now, Census Commission has removed that data. Many editors are editing the template/ related page without any reference data, and I am rather helpless in preventing it. Therefore, I felt that without proper reference the template is somewaht redundant. As such I removed some of the templates. If some one wants to maintain it, I don't have any objection. - P.K.Niyogi (talk) 06:17, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

If you want to put on the template, please do so. I don't have anything to say. The only point I am making is that I am unable to mainatin the list and template properly because my reference data is gone. I am only hoping that I shall be able to get alternative source of data. This is not only for Rajkot but also all the other places on the template. Earlier with a centralised census commission data, it was an easy task, but now it is beyond me to go on checking about each city separately. Please see the talk page of the template. Thanks a lot for your offer. Template:Million-plus cities in India and List of million-plus cities in India have to be maintained together. Please go ahead. I shall be happy to see the page and template in order. Regards. - P.K.Niyogi (talk) 07:11, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Aji River

Since there already is a page Aji River you can make the name more specific. I suppose it is in Gujarat. If so, you can name it Aji River, Gujarat. If it is flowing through more than one state you can make it Aji River, India. For two names there is no need for a disambiguation page. At the top of the new page mention – For the river of the same name in Iran, see Aji River. Similalrly on the Aji River page you add - For the river of the same name in xxx, see xxx with link. Cities

Great work with the List of most populous metropolitan areas in India! I also checked some of the edits after you. Some seem to be spelling corrections. I feel we can accept spelling variations. However, when there are data corrections, they need to be checked and if wrong reverted. Also there are some edits that raise doubts. One peson has made Delhi into Delhi-Meerut. It may be correct but on what basis was it made? Secondly, an urban agglomeration means that several places are included, as for example Kolkata obviously includes Howrah, but that need not be put in the main column. If suitable information is available, it can be included in a separate column. Please keep up the good work. Regards. - P.K.Niyogi (talk) 12:03, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Padma Awards

I tried to download and fix the pix but could'nt. I understand that one needs special software such as Photoshop or Coral Draw for this purpose, and then one has to know how to handle these. I am not an expert in these things. Moreover, I am not sure of copyright implications of the move. Regards - P.K.Niyogi (talk) 02:13, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
