UNSW BIT

[edit]

I appreciate that you are acting in good faith here, but unfortunately this topic fails Wikipedia's notability guidelines by a lot. You admit yourself it's not a well known degree; that means there likely aren't secondary sources covering it. Anyway, I've nominated the article for deletion. Feel free to comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/UNSW Business Information Technology. SnowFire (talk) 15:32, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed - I'm not actually sure (being the holder of one) that anyone should be *encouraged* into this course. It should come with a warning that it can harm your career. Employers really do not know or understand what it is, and when it is explained to them, it is not useful to business needs - it's definitely not a business degree and it's not IT enough to provide IT capabilities. It was an innovation of my university in Perth in 2002. Orderinchaos 04:30, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Currently there are a few different Universities that offers the degree. Secondary sources covering Business Information Technology can be found in the various universities (ref http://www.google.com.au/search?q=Business+information+technology&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a). Orderinchaos I am sorry that your experience was such. However, it should be well known that this degree is preparitory to Business Analyst roles. Snowfire, I will take your suggestions into consideration & regroup & discuss with otherssometimes the world falls apart, then it's time for you to turn into glue.
