Conflict of Interest editing

[edit]

Per your disclosure here that you run one of the marriage courses yourself, you clearly have a conflict of interest. Please post the proper statement on your user page. We are interested in neutrality at Wikipedia, and this is one way of helping that process. Also note that Wikipedia cannot be used for WP:PROMOTION. Thank you, I have done that. Now that means I cannot touch the article anymore? Or can I still suggest additional sources on the talk page?
Thanks, I will move that to your user page where it belongs. You may edit the article while it is in draft; once it is published, you should make requests on the talk page via WP:EDITREQUEST. Thank you. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 20:36, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes that makes sense. Jakub.cz (talk) 06:09, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Jakub.cz", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it suggests a connection with the web site Http://www.jakub.cz. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 22:13, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

My first name is very common (Jakub) so I added CZ when I registered to show that I live in the Czech Republic. I have nothing in common with the jakub.cz website (I did not even know it existed). After going through the username policy, I believe my username does not violate it (just like e.g. DESiegel does not imply connection with siegel.de). Therefore my username is similar to, say, Peter.UK or Marie.FR. I added an explanation to my user page.
Very well, using your own name or part of it is perfectly acceptable here. If you were to edit an article about that website, or start adding it to reference lists, there might be some concern, but short of that there shouldn't be. If anyone raises the issue again, you can poi9nt them,to this exchange. I will make ma note on the original report. Thanks for responding to my inquiry, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you, no problem. And thanks for the welcome, especially now that I know everything is all right :) Jakub.cz (talk) 19:36, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
