Information icon Hello, I'm LuK3. I noticed that you recently removed content from Alby Sabrina Pretto without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Hey there, I know Sabrina, really well, and on her behalf i've been told to make a number of corrections, first of all there's a lot of information regarding her past that she gave no one persission to have disclosed. Her name has never, ever been Alby, her official name on all her official documents is Sabrina Sophie Pretto, she would also like to have all references to an Alberto Pretto deleated. I'm trying my best to figure it out, but I'm knew to this game. Jamanthony (talk) 23:00, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but Wikipedia doesn't work that way. Pretto was clearly notable under a different name, and was referred to by that name in various media. Those media need to be included to support the information about her early life, even as we refer to her as Sabrina throughout. When you are famous, and became famous under a different name, it is impossible to erase all references to that name. Lard Almighty (talk) 12:58, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've subsequently shared your response with Sabrina. She doesn't agree at all and she's decided that maybe it's time she steps in here. She has confirmed that she has never gone by the name Alby. When she has a chance to create a wiki profile, I'm sure you'll be hearing from her. By the way, I underdstand your point about people who become famous under a different name, but although Sabrina was certianly a succesful dancer, we're not talking about a household name here, whose life has been chronicled in the public sphere over the course of her life. My recomendation would be either to delete the page entirely, alternatively make it an Alberto Pretto page with no referencess to Sabrina, seen as, as Sabrina she is by no means, (if she ever has been) part of the public eye. As it stands at this moment, the existing page carries a huge distress for someone in Sabrina's situation, who may I add, is NOT a celebrity Jamanthony (talk) 15:40, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The name Alby has has been removed from the article except for two references to the Albypretty line (although in this source she acknowledges that she was once known as Alby). So that is no longer an issue. Wikipedia contains articles about notable people. Whether Pretto is notable can be debated, but there is certainly plenty of coverage of her career as a dancer and fashion designer out there. Notable people do not have to be "celebrities"; they just need to have done notable things as recorded in reliable sources. This seems to be the case with Pretto, and she has given several interviews discussing various issues around her past and her transitioning, so I don't see any issue around WP:PRIVACY if Wikipedia is merely referring to things that Pretto herself has said.
