November 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to SS United States, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. —Ed 17 (Talk / Contribs) 04:15, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to SS France (1961) ‎ and SS United States[edit]

You have made ascertains that the SS France (1961) and SS United States have been returned to service. Not only have you not referenced this information, it is contrary to other information in other sources. The France is being broken up, and there the United States has no interiors and not usable engines, and could not be returned to service without considerable re-fitting. I can only assume that your edits were vandalism. --rogerd (talk) 04:20, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:BBC World News.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BBC World News.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:17, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:BBC World News white.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:BBC World News white.png. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Non-free images on user page[edit]

Hello there. Please note that the use of non-free images is not permitted under any circumstances outside the main article namespace, per Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria. I'm afraid that means that you will have to remove all of the TV channel logos, etc. from your user page. The pages I've linked to explain this in detail. Image tagging for File:Seputar Indonesia RCTI 2009.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Seputar Indonesia RCTI 2009.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Masjid al Haram in 2020.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Radiant chains (talk) 06:31, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:RCTI.png[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:RCTI.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 04:17, 14 March 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mikemoral♪♫ 04:17, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

As much as many Indonesian editors love adding lists, logos and words to the TV and media articles - many of the articles have very few WP:RS, barely enough WP:V, very low level WP:N and even less credibility from the language used (ie non native speakers using english) - so any time you are able to add and help provide WP:RS, and valid intelligible text into the articles - it would be appreciated - cheers SatuSuro 01:59, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Classic case - Who_Wants_to_Be_a_Millionaire (Indonesian_game_show) - no reliable sources at all, almost marginal notability, and list of irrelevent information. Please note that if you have anything like a reliable source or any 3rd party information about an article like that - please add it - it is a classic candidate as an Afd item if left for a long time and not improved - thanks SatuSuro 04:45, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Your moving of the TV program articles back into Indonesian translation (respect? huh? that is not a particularly useful reason for reverting an edit) and the few items that you have written suggest that perhaps you are not clear with what WP:ABOUT - please note that unless you actually talk specifically about changes either before or at the time, I will ask an administrator to review some of your edits on the basis that you dont seem to actually understand standard process here at WP en - if you want to show otherwise - please come to my talk page and explain yourself there - I would be only too pleased to help you if you in fact have difficulty with english - thanks SatuSuro 13:24, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Repeated removal of valid maintenance tags[edit]

Please stop. Continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Keizoh Kawano, without resolving the problem that the template refers to may be considered vandalism. Further edits of this type may result in you being blocked from editing Wikipedia. --DAJF (talk) 10:59, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Arirang News requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Kkj11210 (talk) 06:54, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Stop insisting on automobile layout jargon[edit]

Hi, for weeks now I have been reverting your poorly thought-out edits and you insist on keeping up the same reckless editing style. For example, replacing the the easily understood front engine, rear-wheel drive / four-wheel drive with the cryptic jargon "FR/4WD". I know of at least several other editors reverting your disruptive edits for the same thing: e.g. Stepho-wrs, Bahooka, Racerx11. So for a final time... PLEASE STOP! The Template:Infobox automobile is quite clear on what style you should be using: Template:Infobox automobile#Infobox parameters—so please read and familiarise yourself with this document.

Also, why are you rounding cubic cm? You may as well just use litres because 4600 cc is the same thing, but 4608 is more precise [1]. Again, other editors are having the same issue: [2].

Finally, rude outburst such as this on my talk page and this on another user's page are simply not acceptable.

I suggest you review your style because the fact that several editors are taking issue with your style implies YOU are causing the issues here. We are all getting very tired of chasing you around to ensure that you are not reducing the quality of articles (which for me at least has been a considerable amount of time).

I look forward to working with you in a cooperative manner in the future.

Hi, at Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge we're striving to bring about 10,000 article improvements and creations for the UK and Ireland and inspire others to create more content. In order to achieve this we need diversity of content, in all parts of the UK and Ireland on all topics. Eventually a regional contest will be held for all parts of the British Isles, like they were for Wales and the Wedt Country. We currently have just over 1900 articles and need contributors! If you think you'd be interested in collaborating on this and helping reach the target quicker, please sign up and begin listing your entries there as soon as possible! Europe 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 09:09, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. This month The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There is over £3000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. Wikimedia UK is putting up £250 specifically for editors who produce the most quality new women bios for British women, with special consideration given to missing notable biographies from the Oxford Dictionary of Biography and Welsh Dictionary of Biography. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate independently this is also fine, but please add any articles created to the bottom of the main contest page even if not competing. Your participation in the contest and contributing articles on British women from your area or wherever would we much appreciated. Thanks.

Discussion at Talk:Sarah Azhari[edit]

I invite you to please join the discussion at Talk:Sarah Azhari.

Hello, we are seeking help with the Sarah Azhari article, created in 2013 & recently the subject of a deletion proposal. At issue was whether or not the Indonesian language sources establish notability. I am inviting you to the discussion at Talk:Sarah Azhari#Help with Indonesian language sources because you are in the Category:User id-N & have a minimum of 1,000 edits across all Wikimedia projects.

I realize that some of you are very busy while others may no longer be editing. Nevertheless, I thought it wise to consult with you.

Thank your for the work that you do on Wiki[mp]edia! Peaceray (talk) 21:06, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
