RFC on the inclusion of a table comparing SI units and Binary prefixes
Notice: An RFC is being conducted here at Talk:Hard diskdrive#RFC on the use of the IEC prefixes. The debate concerns this table which includes columns comparing SI and Binary prefixes to describe storage capacity. We welcome your input

Your signature
Says you are Matthewrbowker (talk · contribs). Please change it immediately; otherwise, you are effectively impersonating another user. /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 16:39, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
Sorry about that. I am still new and I forgot to put my name instead of Matthewrbowker (talk · contribs). It is not my signature.
- No problem. Just don't forget to sign your posts. Also, just a small request—could you maybe not edit your user pages so much, and worry more about fixing articles, first? Remember, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia; the ratio of your article edits to userpage edits is about 1:10, and some people will think this is "MySpacing". Cheers, /ƒETCHCOMMS/ 21:04, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
Blanking pages
Unless there is a special reason, such as an article you created yourself, or a user sub page of yours you don't want any more, please do not blank pages such as you did at Talk:Sugarcreek Local School District or remove messages, even if they are your own. Also. please do not modify the syntax of templates - there are hidden functions that you cannot see and may not understand - changing things can mess up Wikipedia's system of categories and transclusion. Please read the talk page guidelines, and WP:WPSCH especially, and if you want to know anything about creating or editing school or any other pages, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Otherwise happy editing, and keep up the good work! Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:46, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Urgent
Applying a speedy tag to one of your pages has cascaded into dozens of others - look at CAT:CSD. Find out which page you actually want deleted and put <noinclude></noinclude> around the speedy tag. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:16, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- I forgot that a page that I wanted deleted had subpages and Twinkle was just being smart and tagged them all for deletion. Anyways all those pages were deleted when I went to fix the problem. JamisonGuestbookUserboxes 09:21, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but a recent edit that you made to user talk:Jim1138 has been reverted or removed because it was a misuse of a warning or blocking template. Please use the user warnings sandbox for any tests you may want to do, or take a look at our introduction page to learn more about contributing to the encyclopedia. Thank you. If this was reverting vandalism, please be more careful who you blame for it. In particular, don't restore the vandalism you claim you're fixing. Andy Dingley (talk) 10:15, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- I checked the history for User:Jim1138 and I have not changed it. I have posted warnings on his talk page via WP:STiki. Please explain this. JamisonGuestbookUserboxes 10:26, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- What did I do that was problematic. I have two warnings on the page. JamisonGuestbookUserboxes 10:49, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- They were inappropriate warnings. Jim removed the vandalism, but you restored it again and warned them as if they were the vandal. Please be more careful with the tools you're using - and I would suggest removing the warnings, with an apology. Andy Dingley (talk) 11:10, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Take care with tools
This edit to Republic of Manitobah is a bit worrying. Initially I thought that you had just been beaten to the reversion of the actual instance of silly vandalism and therefore accidentally reverted the wrong version; however your edit was 6 hours later, making this a bit unlikely. Please take care when using automated/semi-automated tools such as STiki as many automatically warn editors about vandalism. I suggest that you self-revert the warning that was placed at User talk:Isarra. --Mrmatiko (talk) 14:26, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- Alright, I fixed everything. But maybe you can help me. I am very new to STiki. I am enrolling into the CVU Academy to learn how to use it but I am still waiting for an answer. While I am waiting I wanted to try it and I went for a few test rounds and you are the third complaint that I have received. In STiki I saw a vandalism edit and I clicked vandalism (undo) button and their was no message, no conformation, no info at all. So I got very confused. Then I find out that I was bringing back the vandalism not removing it but in STiki it looked like it was removing it. Let me explain why I thought it was removing it. First STiki showed me what the page looked like before. Then it showed me what the editor vandalized. It then asked me if I wanted to undo this and I let it. Please get me out of this. JamisonGuestbookUserboxes 15:06, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- I don't use anti-vandalism related semi-automated tools and I personally dislike STiki in particular because it seems to turn anti-vandalism work in to a numbers based competition. I guess that the best place to get help is The talk page of STiki. --Mrmatiko (talk) 15:21, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- Mrmatiko doesnt Stiki leaderboard clearly say in block that this is not a competition ? --ÐℬigXЯaɣ 06:13, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
- OK. I think I'll wait until I have training in semi-automated tools. Until then I'll fix all my mistakes and revert vandalism with Twinkle. At least with Twinkle I have full control over everything. Thanks. JamisonGuestbookUserboxes 15:33, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

You did the same thing to me at Prayer wheel. Just thought I'd let you know. Calvin 1998 (t·c) 16:00, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
- The STiki diff display is the exact same as the Wikipedia standard diff display in regard to which side is which - the old version is on the left, the new version is on the right. If you hit "vandalism", it'll revert the page from the new version to the old version, and (possibly) template-warn the user who made the change(s) that took the page from the old version to the new version. Is it possible that you could make your signature less confusing? E.g., can you consider removing the text shadow, and changing the code so that Jami and son don't link to two different places?--yutsi Talk/ Contributions 18:00, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

I bet on your talk page your signature link would be dead also. Go here and scroll to the near bottom and look for Penyulap's signature. His name is broken because you are on his userpage, the page that the link would link to if you weren't already on the page. Also go here and you'll see that the link is not dead. Hi, Jamison. I will be your CVUA instructor. Please tell me when you would like to begin. Thanks, Electriccatfish2 (talk) 19:16, 17 June 2012 (UTC).

CVUA Test
The following 2 scenarios each have 5 questions that are based on WP: VANDAL, WP: REVERT, WP: BLOCK, WP: GAIV, and WP: WARN. Good Luck!
Scenario 1: You encounter an IP vandalizing Hunter Pence by adding in statements that he is gay.
- Would this be considered vandalism or disruptive editing?
- What would be an appropriate warning template to place on the IP's talk page?
- The user adds in curse words to the article 3 times. You keep on reverting the edits, but then you reach the 3rd time that you have to revert the edits. Can you be blocked for edit warring in this case?
- Which of the following AIV entries should be made in this case: IP Vandal or Vandal
- Can this user be blocked indef.?
Scenario 2: You see a new account called "Hi999" that is adding in random letters to pages and is making test edits.
- Would this be considered vandalism or disruptive editing?
- What would be an appropriate warning template to place on the IP's talk page?
- Which of the following Twinkle options should be used to revert these edits: Rollback-Vandal (Red), Rollback (Blue), or Rollback-AGF (Green)?
- The user stops making test edits after getting warned. Would it be appropriate to report this user to AIV?
- If this user keeps on vandalizing, can this user be blocked indef.?
Thank you, Electriccatfish2 (talk) 21:45, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
