If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

Hi! Your edits to the page have contributed to the page quite nicely! I understand your edits as my page was very similar as there was barely any information on it. You added details that were extremely important, especially about Gordon's demographics and the entire section regarding his publication! Your sources are extremely helpful to the overall article, and they fit the Wiki standards. I find that the organizational structure of your page is very well done! Each heading flows in the right direction, and you really highlighted the key aspects of Gordon and his life. The one suggestion I have is to potentially add a clubs/organizations section if possible (I know it depends on the sources and amount of information you have) since he was very involved in activist work according to your page. Overall, the edits you have made have grown the page by a large amount. Great work! :) AliyahAD8 (talk) 03:32, 1 December 2022 (UTC) AliyahAD8 (talk) 03:33, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The lead did not seem to have to be updated much by the editor, as it did a sufficient job already in describing who Eugene Gordon was. The content added seems to be relevant to the article, as it adds more context into Gordon's education and personal life, writing career, and his work "The Negro Press". The tone of the content is neutral, it does not try to bias the audience with the point of view of the editor. It does a great job in setting an objective and certain tone when stating facts about Gordon's life. All the new content added seems to be supported by reliable sources. There seems to be enough sources when necessary throughout the parts that were edited. The content overall is organized well and well-written, separating the writing into sections. There does not seem to be many grammatical errors, except for an error found in the Education and personal life section, stating that Eugene Gordon was born in the year 1981, which is most likely a typo for the year 1891. Overall, the content in the article has drastically improved with the aid of the editor. The strengths of the content added is the needed context into Gordon's upbringing and context as a soldier, along with his work as a writer and in "The Negro Press". The content can be improved by fixing small typos, such as the year he was born. I do not believe there needs to be any other drastic changes, as everything else fits the criteria remarkably.
