Draft: Francis Baraan[edit]

I moved the talk page you created so it stays with the draft, you can find it now at Draft talk:Francis Baraan. I'm also going to remove most of what you did there, since some of the templates you used are used appropriately. You may not use {{help}} templates in an attempt to expedite a review of your draft. It is submitted for review and I'm afraid you'll just have to be patient. Drafts are reviewed in no particular order. Taking a quick look at your draft, I suggest you work on improving the references and making sure that every statement has an inline citation. Lack of inline citations is one reason most reviewers will decline a draft. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 20:13, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Thanks for the feedback! Exactly what do you mean by improving references? Should I add the author, date retrieved for the references? ThanksA JanitorPH (talk) 20:21, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Improving references is a catchall, since there can almost always be improvements. But just to pick a few: refs 10 and 11 appear to be "identification" references, and the URL does not work at placeandsee.com. This sort of identification is normally done through wiki-links. Since the references do not actually substantiate Baraaan's attendance, they are not useful at all for this section. If you want to say he attended such-and-such a school, you need a published (and, ideally, independent) source that backs this statement up.

And every place where you have a statement in the body of the article (after the lead paragraph, which is supposed to be a summary of the body and does not itself require references), you need a reference. These inline citations are required for this sort of article. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 22:17, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Contesting deletion nomination.

Hello, Ollie. My edits and contributions are usually Filipino activists and celebs. I even started drafting an article for Draft:Margo Katharine Midwinter. I am not aware of the deleted article on Francis Baraan. But I checked it out after you mentioned it. The article was nominated for many issues, especially notability. But the subject meets WP:PUBLICFIGURE now. According to WP:ANYBIO, a biography of a living person has to have been nominated and honored with a major national award, plus other criteria. Others can edit my article, but I am sure nobody would question notability and references are all good.

And no, I am not a sockpuppet. Haha. JanitorPH (talk) 21:05, 20 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
