{{unblock|I have made 10 edits as a pure coincidence. Do your really block EVERYBODY who makes or made 10 edits to their user page in '08? I did not request an unblock earlier cause I have NOT tried to make any edits to pages earlier. Until two-three months ago, when I found a "the the electron" spelling mistake in one article and tried to correct it and I saw (to my amazement) that I was blocked. I initially thought the campus gateway IP address was blocked because of someone else. Then I realized it was me... and had no idea why. Then they explained it to me... sort of... cause none of the explanations are valid, nor true. So I'm quite surprised that there isn't ONE moderator who sees what's going on and unblock a totally innocent account. (And FYI, if you all are convinced that I am a vandal, why don't you just unblock me and then monitor my activity, and if I make even ONE act of vandalism, you can block my user name, IP address, MAC, and everything you want. You have MY persission to do this. This is already so absurd... As a matter of fact, even the Admin who posted the block clearly stated I don't believe the account would pose a serious risk to the encyclopedia now, with the new mechanisms in place to prevent page move vandalism etc, so I've no objection to the user being unblocked. Nick (talk) 12:10, 16 March 2010 (UTC) so I don't see any valid reason from any of you still blocking me.)}}

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

This block was based on what, at the time, seemed a reasonable suspicion.However, there is no hard evidence of any disruption, and it is contrary to the spirit of assuming good faith to decline to unblock them.

Request reason:

Never have I imagined that such a thing would happen on Wikipedia. I always came here as a place where you could find anything and I really loved the page. Unfortunately the ignorance of some moderators, who give block without no good reason, and the the others ones who wouldn't remove it, although the first moderator who gave the block explicitly said the the block could be removed, has left me with a very sour taste about it now. Seems like you prefer that I create a new account (which is really no big deal), instead of just unblocking an innocent one. One again ii must note though: would have I made all this effort to get an unblock if I was a hacker/vandal? Just think about it...

Decline reason:

Then would you care to explain why you made only ten edits in '08 and then no more until this spate of unblock requests? I have to say, I see far too many red flags - the ten-and-stop, the long periods of inactivity... You're just screaming "vandal", though whether or not you are JA/G/J is irrelevant here. I do not think that unblocking you will be in the best interests of the encyclopedia, and for that I am declining this request. —Jeremy (v^_^v Dittobori) 21:16, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I can assure you that I am not that so called Haggar or what's his name. The user page edits, although numerous indeed, were made because I was experimenting a little. I don't think that that is an offense, since I was doing it on my own page (but maybe I should have used the sandbox instead?). The time periods are just pure coincidence. It is not true that I am only requesting an unblock now. I wrote you (Nick) an e-mail message requesting an unblock a couple of months ago, but you never got back. If I was a hacker or a vandal, I don't think I would insist on unblocking this account. I would just make a new one. But I don't want to. The block has no valid reason and I feel that it should be removed. I am a PhD student at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in electronic engineering, so I could (although very rare) correct mistakes in articles related to this field. I also have a Certificate In Advanced English, issued by the University of Cambridge, UK, so my English is pretty good as well (as you can see) Hope this info helps clear things up and you decide to remove the block.

Decline reason:

As per second unblock request below. Appears clear, as does explanation on second unblock (of course, only one unblock should have been made anyway) (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 21:28, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nick, could you comment on this? The user has apparently never made edits outside his user page, so I don't quite see why you blocked him. Thanks,  Sandstein  11:56, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have no idea why I am blocked. I never did anything destructive on Wikipedia (see changes log), I only used to correct simple spelling mistakes when I found some. I don't mind being blocked as long I have a valid reason for it.

follow up on unblocking[edit]

The person you were suspected of representing is one of the most notorious disruptive users ever to haunt Wikipedia, and your edits did fit the general pattern they were using at that time. Sometimes in our zeal to defend Wikipedia from those who come here only to deliberately harm the project, mistakes are made. Edits that aren't vandalism get reverted, and users that aren't here with bad intentions get blocked. It's an imperfect system, but it's all we've got. I'm rather surprised at the reluctance of my fellow admins to just go ahead and give you the chance to prove (or disprove) that what you say is true. Fighting the various vandals, trolls, and POV pushers sometimes leads to a feeling that nearly all new accounts are vandals, and that nobody is blocked without a good reason, even though we know this is not actually the case. I'm sorry you had this experience and I hope you won't let it taint your impression of what is, most of the time, a pretty damn good community of users.
