Regarding the above, could you tell me whether, when you referred to "great manors of the nobility", you meant by "manors" lands, or houses? Thanks, Staffelde 23:48, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

I meant first and foremost manor houses. Of course they were once centres of manorial land holdings (although that system was never very universal in Sweden), but it was the houses I was thinking about. -- Jao 11:26, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Prince Imperial and Austria-Este

In response to a query at Charles's talk archives

The problem with Google and the Austria-Este titles is that many people who perpetuate it are themselves only familiar with the titles of Prince Imperial and Archduke of Austria. The addition of Este was only made to the archducal title, so the princely imperial title remains "of Austria". It's a simple error that is fairly easy to mistake as fact. Yes, the "of Austria" is implied --- only with the standard archducal title. The difference came up only when Este was appended to the end of Austria. Charles 23:25, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi, you seem to have been the main author in the past of History of Greenland, that is currently on Wikipedia:Featured article removal candidates because it doesn't cite it's sources. From the original nomination it looks like you did have sources, including a book in Swedish and some of the external links, so if you could cite them according to the current guidelines that would solve the problem. That guide also shows how to format external links listed as sources. Let me know if you need any help. Thanks - Taxman Talk 10:02, 21 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing out the Manual of Style error I made. I readded the reference to the sentence.  RasputinAXP  c 18:20, 28 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I came across this article. However I am not at all up on shooting so I am not sue how it needs to be expanded , catagorized or removed. Can you have a look at this please or let perhaps someone else in the shooting area know about it. Thanks. - SimonLyall 10:55, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Change the shooting sports infobox into a template

I was just merging Running target into 10 m Running Target and noticed that the shooting sports share an infobox that you made. Perhaps making it into a template would be useful. --Swift 23:27, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

I notified Deon Steyn about this (see his talk page) and he helped out. Thanks!

ISSF tables "look"

In reply to this revert

Hi, I'm glad someone else is actually looking at these pages. I have just added a comment on the discussion page Talk:10 m Air Pistol...
I have now also convert the list of champions (men only)... what do you think revert everything or go one or the other? (I'd convert all the pages). Deon Steyn 07:19, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for double checking the country thing and cleaning up my mistakes with BEL/BLR, GER/FGR, CZE/TCH! I also realised yesterday that there are pages for each Olympic's shooting results too... I will fool around with a script (off site, for my own use) to better automate the changing to this new layout. Once I'm done with all of that I'd like to add some more content on the firearms themselves (created Hammerli yesterday etc.)... or at least the famous one! I can't believe there is no information about it on Wikipedia!. -- Deon Steyn 06:07, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Thank you very much for wanting to brush up that area, and thank you also for your generous barnstar. -- Jao 08:34, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Sweden

My pleasure. I have just finished putting the results of the Swedish elections up at my website, but I can't find a list of the names of the people elected at the government elections website. Do you know where I might find one? Adam 10:41, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

The final count is still underway, but they have promised to have all results published tomorrow. -- Jao 15:41, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Capitalization

A reply to an inquiry at Sue Anne's talk page

I don't know enough about the topic as to whether rapid fire pistol should be in lowercase or capitalized, which is why I didn't change it immediately. My first thoughts are that it should be lowercase, but I need to look into it more. Sue Anne 18:22, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

pedigrees

You may wish to check the several genealogical trees mentioned at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Greek pedigree of Empress Sisi, and the Swedish Tofta issue I wrote a short stub about. Maed 02:53, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Categorising redirects

Hi there. About this edit, would you have time to discuss it? I see you left the administrative category in place (thanks), but removed the category tag that placed this redirect in Category:Characters in The Lord of the Rings. That redirect is a bad example, as it was created as a result of this discussion, but have a look at this redirect. Because the "redirects pointing at subsections" thing now works, it is now possible to have a link to 'Aeglos' appear in Category:Middle-earth weapons. What do you think? Carcharoth 00:58, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

First of all, thanks for pointing me to the relevant discussion, I had no idea this was some kind of an experiment, which explains it. My main quarrel with GimIi is, of course, its inherent ugliness (depending on font settings, a capital I and a lower-case l may look very different) and the fact that having both Gimli (Middle-earth) and GimIi in the same category listing seems to imply that there are two articles about him. Neither of these apply to Aeglos, though, which I think is kind of a tricky case. On one hand, I would say that categories are meant to be listings of articles (which would rule out Aeglos), but on the other hand, I certainly see the point in wanting this category listing to be a complete list of canonical M-E weapons, whether or not they have their own articles. To be sure, I wouldn't revert that categorization either way, but I think it's an interesting discussion. I think the best thing would be to ask at Wikipedia talk:Categorization, where people have probably thought more about these things than I have (frankly, I didn't even know the section-redirect thing had been fixed until you mentioned it). -- Jao 16:11, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
