From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I'm afraid I've taken a fair amount of content out of the article as inappropriately promotional for an encyclopedia article. Please remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a free webhost in which one may extol the undoubted virtues of the hospice at extreme length. The subject appears to be notable as one of the first major hospice organizations, and that should be the focus of the article and its referencing. Please take some time to tighten the article to a just-the-facts recitation of why it's notable, without making it into a promotional press release. If you have a close relationship with the organization, please review WP:COI and explicitly declare your affiliation: based on the "contacts" page this appears to be the case. Sometimes it's hard to step back and look at such a subject objectively. Fewer adjectives and more plain facts, supported by references in major independent media are what we're looking for. I cut a lot of material that really had little to do with encyclopedic content, and which is best left for the hospice's website. What's important as far as Wikipedia is concerned is the hospice's status as a pioneer of the hospice movement, which should be stated as plainly and objectively as possible, without tangential detail. I'll be happy to answer any questions. You might want to read our advice on creating your first article. Acroterion (talk) 23:42, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, much of the lede content appears to have been copy/pasted directly from the website, which may account for the promotional character of the prose. Rather than delete the copyright violations, I've rewritten the lede a little. You may not copy copyrighted material into Wikipedia. Even if you released the content with a free license, it is still inappropriate for use here. Please take the time to rewrite the content so it is not a copy of the website material. Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Jaredbporter. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Acroterion (talk) 00:08, 5 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Alive Hospice, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
