A newly created fraternity is trying to figure out how to create a page for the fraternity Pi Delta Gamma to display on Wikipedia. Can you help me? ----

Fraternities and Notability.[edit]

Hello, I'm Naraht and I'm fairly experienced in Fraternities and Sororities on Wikipedia. I'm presuming that Pi Delta Gamma is the Fraternity whose home page is http://www.pideltagammafraternity.com/ . Subjects for Wikipedia need to be viewed as Notable, which is generally defined in WP:GNG as "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject". It is fairly rare for Fraternities and Sororities which only have one undergraduate chapter to meet that criteria. Specifically for Fraternities and Sororities, the following guide has been created Wikipedia:WikiProject Fraternities and Sororities/Notability.

As a guide to the type of single chapter fraternity that does have a page, I looked through the Category Category:Local_fraternities_and_sororities, the youngest fraternity or sorority in that list started in the 1920s and most date to well back into the 1800s. I appreciate that with multiple Alumni chapters it is debatable as to whether Pi Delta Gamma fits in that group, but it should give a guide.

Please let me know if you have any question, you may also want to ask at the talk page of the Fraternities and Sororities Wikiproject at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Fraternities and Sororities. Naraht (talk) 14:41, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
