License tagging for Image:IglesiaSanMiguelArcangel.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:IglesiaSanMiguelArcangel.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:05, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
Utuado article
[edit]I am glad that you have made Utuado your permanent home. It is a very beatiful place.
I have been trying to convince User 192.203.40.2 that his "standarization" of Puerto Rico's municpalities are horrible. It creates a very complex table of contents and makes the article very listy. If you take a look at his/her talk page I have asked him/her numerous times to please stop his edits. I have the power to stop him/her (block) from editing but ethically it would not be correct since I am personally involved in the dispute. For now all I am doing is cleaning up his/her mess and removing any copyrighted information I find. If you ish you may do the same with the Utuado article. Anyways, take care. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Utuado Coat of Arms.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Utuado Coat of Arms.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:18, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

License for Image: 2IndianPark.jpg
[edit]The image 2IndianPark.jpg is a candidate to be copied to the Wikimedia Commons. When you uploaded this image, you licensed it for use under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). On behalf of the Wikipedia and Commons communities, thank you.
You also chose a license tag which adds disclaimers to the GFDL. As explained at Wikipedia:GFDL standardization, these disclaimers cause certain re-use problems that make the GFDL less free than it could be. Before I copy this image to the Commons, I wanted to ask whether you would be willing to remove the disclaimers from your GFDL tag. No one other than you may legally alter the license. If you do choose to modify the license on this image, I respectfully recommend any of the following best-practices license tags: You are under no obligation whatsoever to alter the license. Doing so merely cooperates with those members of the community who believe that disclaimers in individual media are undesirable. Wikipedia consensus still allows GFDL licenses with disclaimers, as does the Commons. Whether or not you choose to remove the disclaimers, thank you for your consideration. (Please also see Wikipedia:Copyrights and Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons for more information.) |
Thanks! --Ipoellet (talk) 03:20, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- If you're willing to change the disclaimers, here's the easiest way to do it:
- Click on this link, or on the image above.
- Scroll down to the section headed "Licensing" and click on the "edit" link on the right side of your screen.
- In the edit window that opens, remove the text: "
-with-disclaimers
". That line should now read: "{{self2|GFDL|cc-by-2.5}}
". - Scroll down to the "edit summary" box and enter that you are voluntarily relicensing the image.
- Click "save page" and you're done.
- Thanks for being willing to do this! --Ipoellet (talk) 04:10, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you again! Ipoellet (talk) 02:14, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Utuadojuly102006.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Utuadojuly102006.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
