For more information check out our tutorial - it's designed with newcomers in mind, as is the help section. If you'd like to get involved with current projects, have a look at the Community Portal. There are always tasks for users to do, ranging from copyediting to expanding stubs.

I hope you'll enjoy your time here, but be warned, it can become addictive! Feel free to message me, I'm more than happy to help. As an added tip, sign any message you post so users know that you've said it. To do so is delightfully simple, just use the wikicode ~~~~. Aloha, please accept the WikiWelcome Lei as a welcoming gift for your arrival to Wikipedia.

Image Tagging Image:Linda.gif[edit]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Linda.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. JeremyA 04:01, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Godfrey.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Godfrey.gif. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. JeremyA 04:07, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Linda Kaye Henning[edit]

Hi! The article Linda Kaye Henning appears to be copied from http://petticoat.topcities.com/lindakayehenning.htm Are you the copyright holder for this text? If not, do you have permission from the copyright holder to place it in a Wikipedia article. If you are not the copyright holder, and you don't have permission to use the text, the article will have to be rewritten from scratch or deleted. JeremyA 05:19, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging for Image:Linda.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Linda.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Image legality questions. 11:23, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Public domain images?[edit]

Hi. Please do not label your image uploads as public domain without specifying their source so that others can verify their status. This regards:

If we can discover their source and verify their legal status, the images may be deleted in seven days. Please read the links in preceding messages about image tags and copyrights and direct any questions to Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. ×Meegs 22:59, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Anatole Fistoulari[edit]

A tag has been placed on Anatole Fistoulari requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. VivioFateFan (Talk, Sandbox) 01:34, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Warning[edit]

Hello. I recently put a speedy deletion tag on your page. Since then you have removed it. This is not the way to do it. If you would like to challenge the block, then please follow the instructions that are on the article page.

If you have any other questions relating to this or anything else, please feel free to contact me at any time. Aflumpire 02:56, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of "GE True (TV series)"[edit]

A page you created, GE True (TV series), has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is obvious advertising or promotional material.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Jbonfant! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 905 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
