Nomination of Steven Thibault for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Steven Thibault is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Steven Thibault until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Bearcat (talk) 21:18, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, Wikipedia's conflict of interest rules strongly militate against starting an article about yourself. Secondly, our inclusion rules do not exempt a person from having to be the subject of enough reliable source coverage to clear WP:GNG — our notability requirements for people require certain specific markers of accomplishment to be verifiably achieved, and do not give automatic inclusion rights to anybody just because they exist. And thirdly, our rules about writing tone require the article to read like an encyclopedia article, not like you just tried to convert your résumé into prose. Ill fix it up and re-submit later.

Thanks

User page

[edit]

Hi, I moved your original versions of this talk page to User:Jcsathibault, and was in the process of changing the categories from article categories to user categories when you blanked it. If you wish to remove any or all of the categories, that will of course be fine. If you blank the user page again completely, I will take it that you wish to the previous versions in the page history to be deleted altogether.

Hope this helps – Fayenatic London 21:42, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

1000 Women in Religion: A Wikipedia edit-a-thon at "Atla Annual 2019" in Vancouver, British Columbia
Sheraton Vancouver Wall Center

The 1000 Women in Religion Project is working to improve the coverage of women’s contributions to religious, spiritual and wisdom traditions worldwide. In support of this goal, the edit-a-thon at Atla's (formerly the American Theological Library Association) annual meeting will focus on improving articles about women in religion. We would love to have a few Vancouver area Wikipedians to help us get new editors oriented and editing!!
