Edits feedback[edit]

Hi Jdavid06,

Here are some comments on your edits for Spasmodic Dysphonia: Diagnosis!

Strengths:

  • Recent, up-to-date sources; the links all work
  • Everything in the section is relevant to the topic and is presented in a neutral tone appropriate for an encyclopedia; the amount of content is appropriate for this section

Areas for improvement:

  • There is quite a bit of specialized vocabulary – you could add more hyperlinks to help readers get more information (e.g. perceptual, physiological, functional disorder, laryngoscopy, stroboscopy, etc.)
  • Including citations for comments regarding diagnostic procedures in the second paragraph

Let me know if you have any questions about my comments :) Jlmdouce (talk) 00:31, 28 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jlmdouce! Thanks for your feedback, it was really helpful. I went through and added further explanation and/or hyperlinks for the specialized vocabulary, and fixed the missing sources. I appreciate your taking the time to review my article, please let me know if you find anything else that could be improved! Jdavid06 (talk) 01:15, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Peer Review by Yasbey[edit]

Hi Jessica,

Very well done, I really enjoyed reading your section! You highlighted information I think to be pertinent to the article. I also liked how you included information specific to Speech-pathologists. You use a professional and neutral tone. A few minor edits might be good:

1. You have quite a few longer sentences that might be better to make into two. 2. It might be good to link more words, such as the different professions, for people to read up on them. 3. It might also be good to rearrange your paragraph so that you elaborate on the professions' role based on the order you present them (otolaryngologist, SLP, neurologist). 4. You mentioned that the SLP evaluates the person's voice and voice quality, but didn't go into detail about how that is done. It would be great to add that in.

Overall, great work Jessica! Best, Yasbey (talk) 02:03, 28 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Yasbey! Thank you for your comments, I appreciate your taking the time to provide feedback on my article. I agree that some of the sentences were quite long, so I revised them to be more concise. I also added hyperlinks and further explanation for the more technical terms. Thanks for your feedback on the assessment process as well, I made some changes that I hope help to clarify this section. Please let me know if you find any other improvements that could be made! Thanks, Jdavid06 (talk) 01:18, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback from Nicole[edit]

Hi Jessica

Good work as the first time wiki editor. Your writing is neutral and professional. However, I found there're some overlaps between sections of diagnosis and signs/ symptoms, eps when talking about the assessment. In face, I think the term of "voice assessment" is more appropriate. I also think that the section regarding differential diagnosis of SD with others (e.g., MTD) could be explained more.
