Sebastian inlet[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Sebastian Inlet. Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia guidelines and policies summarized above. To allow those edits to remain, we must first have a citation from a secondary published source. Observations and conclusions of our own are not allowed in the encyclopedia. Nor are we allowed to copy material from copyrighted sources.

If you need help with this, please contact me on my talk page or on the article, Sebastian Inlet discussion page. Thanks. Student7 (talk) 21:39, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your response. You have provided us with all the information that we need. The problem now is to condense the information to a encyclopedic article. Summarized, as it were. Cites are a nuisance to generate, even for experienced editors. But they must be furnished, nonetheless.
Your conclusions are speculation and WP:OR. It is possible to quote a book you have published, but "dangerous" editorially. You might mention that on the discussion page if you do that, and request "editorial support" however little you might want or need it!  :) Quoting the Star or some other long forgotten publication is more desirable though you may not have those clippings in front of you anymore. There is a format that must be followed. See WP:CITE. Student7 (talk) 23:05, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't restore old material which has been edited without supplying a good reason on the edit summary page. This should always be filled out anyway.
Articles may be accurately quoted, but they can't always be used in their entirety. Media says things that are reprehensible in an encyclopedia. Calling someone "enigmatic" for example. This is best done from an scholarly source which we probably won't be able to do here. We try to avoid "labeling" people particularly from the near past. There are some historical figures that have had scholarly examination from which we may select a label or two. Thanks. Student7 (talk) 12:24, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
