Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Barrie Police Service appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe this important core policy. Thank you. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:28, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we must insist that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not on Talk:Barrie Police Service. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. 5 albert square (talk) 01:51, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Barrie Police Service. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. There is also a discussion about this at Talk:Barrie Police Service, please join in the discussion there. Thank you. 5 albert square (talk) 22:14, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. --5 albert square (talk) 00:04, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please take a moment and read the NPOV warnings above[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Barrie Police Service. Users who edit disruptively or refuse to collaborate with others may be blocked if they continue. In particular the three-revert rule states that making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the talk page to discuss controversial changes. Work towards wording and content that gains consensus among editors. If unsuccessful, then do not edit war even if you believe you are right. Post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice.  7  00:19, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that NPOV and policies against original research are critical components of this project. We cannot allow an account who comes here with single purpose in mind to bend the verifable truth with allegations like "attempted obstruction of justice ...", while citing only a reference which explains that there was an officer disciplined for drug possession. This also makes it appear to us that you are very close to this situation and may have a conflict. Please stop reverting and please use the articles talk page to further discuss any controversial changes.  7  00:23, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. You are incorrect in your assertion that I have an agenda with regard to the Barrie Police Service article and the 'pervasive misconduct' section which I have had to repeatedly revert due to repeated vandalism by an individual at IP address: 66.209.53.162 (which incidentally is the IP address for the Barrie Police Service). Secondly, the "attempted obstruction of justice ..." reference in the article is a direct quote from the unbiased, previously published and reputable references which I provided and which the Barrie Police Service would like to 'white wash' from their 'History'. Wikipedia is not to be used to produce self-serving 'white-washed' versions of history. If that were the case, the article on Adolf Hitler would merely refer to him as a 'pretty good painter and artist' instead of the architect of the Holocaust. If the Barrie Police Service wishes to 'spin' their history, then they are free to do so on their own web site, but not on Wikipedia which is a public encyclopedia of facts (both positive and negative). The Barrie Police Service article prior to my addition of the 'Pervasive misconduct' section was overtly positive, promotional and self-serving. Following the addition of the 'Pervasive misconduct' section, it is balanced. While I respect your right to hold your own views and opinions, I will, nonetheless be reverting the article back to include the 'Pervasive misconduct' section. You may attempt to block me if you wish, but I assure you, I will appeal and I will have your block over-ruled and the article restored to a balanced form.

Respectfully submitted
