New Greek politician[edit]

Hello and thank you for deleting Edwardianism (ideology) and Edwardian Greece per G3. I fear that they may be the tip of an iceberg. The editors who created those articles have both worked on User:Johnn1312/sandbox. Other recent pages documenting the previously unknown Steven "Edward" Maniatis I (aka Stefanos Maniaths) include User:MAreseiOCommunismos/sandbox (based on R. H. Tawney), User:Fthesystempls/sandbox (based on Greek National Socialist Party) and User:Gamioloodigos/sandbox (based on Black Front). Of course, we all make test pages in our sandboxes, but something bigger may be afoot. It's cross-wiki: el:Χρήστης:FriendlyFront/πρόχειρο (now deleted) also mentioned (in Roman text) "Stefanos Maniaths". SPI time? Certes (talk) 21:37, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Contest deletion of Christina Colclough's article[edit]

Hi there, I'd like to contest the deletion of Christina Colclough's article. It was completely rewritten from the content of the previously deleted page, with zero external links included in the article so the previous feedback has been addressed. I've had 9 Wikipedia articles previously created and approved, and this was of the same (or, in my opinion, higher) quality of writing. Thank you! Catyeo18 (talk) 00:10, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Catyeo18 As the article was recently deleted by AfD the correct path to recreate is through Wikipedia:Articles for creation this will prevent it from being speedily deleted with G4. Even via this path, the article may be subject to another AfD discussion that it may or may not survive. You can request the article be restored as a Draft at Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion. Jeepday (talk) 12:28, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Jeepday Gotcha, thank you so much! I've recreated the article through Wikipedia:Articles for creation at this draft page: Draft:Christina_Colclough. Is there anything else I should do now? Catyeo18 (talk) 23:54, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Catyeo18 I put a note about the AfD discussion on the talk page of your article. Keep in mind it is not the quality of your writing the decides if the article is promoted, it is if the subject is notable. You may want to read the AfD discussion and ensure all the concerns are addressed. Jeepday (talk) 09:16, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lisa Angiolini[edit]

Hi. Please can you let me know which criteria the article for Lisa Angiolini met for its speedy deletion? From what I recall before you deleted, it was simply tagged with the ubiquitious text of "Topic not notable", which doesn't appear to be the case, as she is/was taking part in a European championship, or indeed a valid CDS criteria. I was in the middle of finding more sources, only to find the article had already been nuked. Is there a case that this can be restored? Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 15:05, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lugnuts The subject does not seem to meet WP:SPORTCRIT, competing at the 'European Aquatics Championships' is not going to make the subject notable. If you disagree, I can restore and move to drafts, see WP:DRAFT. But think about before you respond. If the subject is not notable per guidelines it will be a lot of work that just gets deleted. Jeepday (talk) 15:48, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
OK, but which bit of WP:CSD does this meet? Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:09, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
WP:A7 "does not indicate why its subject is important or significant" this info is included in the deletion summary with a link to A7
Is that the same WP:A7 that states "The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance even if the claim is not supported by a reliable source or does not qualify on Wikipedia's notability guidelines"? IE, the credible claim of significance or importance being that she is competing at a European Championship? You should probably have a read of WP:NOTCSD too. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:55, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
There were no creditable claims, as versed as you seem to be in Wikipedia rules you should know to create as a WP:DRAFT. Discussion is over, I withdraw my offer to restore to as a Draft. Jeepday (talk) 17:09, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine. It's clear that I'm more versed than you are, and at least can accept when I've made an error. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:16, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, if you could copy the article to the draft page, I would make new sources and additions. The person is one of the famous actors of Azerbaijan.

  • I think if we correctly indicate each source on the article page, we can improve it even more. If it is restored i can start working on the draft page. --Elshad Iman (Elşad İman) (talk) 09:11, 7 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A recently closed Request for Comment (RFC) reached consensus to remove Autopatrolled from the administrator user group. You may, similarly as with Edit Filter Manager, choose to self-assign this permission to yourself. This will be implemented the week of December 13th, but if you wish to self-assign you may do so now. More Battle for Dream Island drafts[edit]

Hi, I noticed you removed Draft:Cary and Michael Huang's draft page for CSD G4. Was wondering if you could look over the other Battle for Dream Island drafts such as:

AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 17:50, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • It was just in the pile, of speedy deletes I was working. Jeepday (talk) 20:32, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • You said that draft was a recreation of a page that had already been deleted per an AfD discussion. I think you may be referring to the discussion on the BFDI article, but I think that would be like confusing apples with oranges, as previous attempts to make BFDI pages didn't mention Scale of the Universe, Abacaba or anything else concerning the Huang twins. Even though it was rejected thrice for failing to meet WP:NCREATIVE, I wouldn't expect a draft to be deleted within less than six months of the last edit (especially speedily) unless someone invokes the snowball clause or wishes to save other reviewers' time from potentially being wasted on over-submitted drafts that don't quite meet all the notability criteria. – MrPersonHumanGuy (talk) 17:01, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
      • If you want to continue work on it, I am happy to restore it. Jeepday (talk) 17:20, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
        • On behalf of anyone who has contributed to it and anyone else who may contribute to it in the future, thanks. – MrPersonHumanGuy (talk) 17:54, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
MrPersonHumanGuy, I would say anything related to BFDI (episode list, object show, show article, character article) would be snowball clause No, but a bio on the brothers with their other work highlighted to try to meet notability purposes could be considered for draft unless that one gets tendentiously resubmitted. New Article deletion[edit]

I just started creating an article about Thabit AbdulNour, a dead person who was a member of Iraqi Parliament during the Monarchy which is a reason to be considered a Notable Person per Wikipedia Guidelines. I have all the reliable sources/references to support all the material claims in this article. The deletion was very quick before I even had the chance to put all the information I have. If there is another reason for the deletion, please let me know SULNOUR (talk) -SULNOUR- — Preceding undated comment added 13:38, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • You should start the article as a draft, that will give you time to work on it. See WP:DRAFT, your article was not ready to be in main space. I would offer to move it to draft space but there was not much there. Just create new as a draft. Jeepday (talk) 13:51, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the answer. I thought I was working in Draft but I might be wrong. I'll be more careful this time SULNOUR (talk) 14:09, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers for the thanks!![edit]

Tiktiner was one of those pages I had popped on my watchlist YEARS ago as something to come back to and fix, and then completely forgotten about. So when I saw your PROD, it was the fillip I needed - especially as I'd just gotten my access to NewspaperArchive back. So it was lucky that I spotted you'd PRODed it and that there was indeed so much material out there to prove notability - although it makes me wonder what on earth the original article creator was smoking. Anyway, thanks for the thanks. Mabalu (talk) 17:49, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of "Remote (company)"[edit]

Hi Jeepday. I've noticed you've speedy deleted the article Remote (company) under G11. This is an article I was working on, and in the process of gathering sources - for which there are plenty asserting the necessary notability. This is a company that just went through a $300M round of funding and has been valued $3B (https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-04-05/softbank-backed-startup-remote-nears-3-billion-value-in-funding). We should definitely have an article on it and that's why I was creating it.

Please undelete so I may proceed with editing. Although the references hadn't been added yet, I must say that I'm a bit surprised that speedy deletion was applied in this case without proper due diligence. I've deleted many companies under G11 and a quick google search would have shown it most definitely doesn't fall under it. And in case of doubt, this should have gone through AfD. Thank you. Húsönd 21:56, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I restored it and moved it to Draft Space space as Draft:Remote (company) this will give you time to work on it until it is ready for main space. Jeepday (talk) 13:32, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for that. I'll carry on working on it and move to the mainspace once ready & referenced. Húsönd 13:37, 8 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the recent speedy deletion of Abraham Khan Joy[edit]

Hi there. I just noticed this deletion on my watchlist and since you seem to have returned from a longer hiatus, I thought this a good reason to remind you that per WP:CSD a page is only eligible for speedy deletion if all revisions are. In this case, for example, previous revisions included redirects to notable articles which could have been restored per WP:ATD-R instead. It's no big deal here but for the future, it pays to be careful since anyone can just replace a page with speedy worthy material. Anyway, I hope you are back with us for a longer while Regards SoWhy 16:52, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • I did not even look for a redirect. I was not aware the creating redirects for infant children's names to the mother was a "thing". I looked and don't see anything in support or against it. As the only incoming links to that page are from the parents, it seems kind of redundant for the redirect to exist, it would also seem to conflict with WP:SELFRED (at least on moms page) Jeepday (talk) 17:17, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion contested: Fardad Fateri[edit]

Hello Jeepday. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Fardad Fateri, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. BangJan1999 17:10, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the notice, be aware I nominated for deletion see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fardad Fateri Jeepday (talk) 17:33, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Jeepday, I'm not convinced that this was a valid CSD deletion (note: I've also declined two other CSD nominations from the same CSD nominator). I don't think G7 is applicable - while the CSD nominator created the redirect by moving the page, they weren't the person who moved the page to that title and even before that previous March move, the redirect had existed for years. WP:G7 says For redirects created as a result of a page move, the mover must also have been the only substantive contributor to the pages before the move The article also says (without a source) that "Wandelaar was refurbished and commissioned as Drazki with pennant number 41" so if that's right than the redirect is reasonable, given hull number nomenclature.
