Speedy deletion declined: Truman Taylor

Hello Jeff G.. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Truman Taylor, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Award wins is enough for A7. Probably wouldn't pass the GNG though, so needs to go to AfD if you think it should go. Thank you. GedUK  15:38, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

@Ged UK: Thanks, but I haven't the time to pursue WP:BEFORE on the way to AfD for this article.   — Jeff G. ツ 15:49, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

Yukon Arts Centre post

Hi Jeff. I got your message regarding my updated post as Yukonarts on the Yukon Arts Centre. My apologies. I hadn't realized I was breaking policy rules. I haven't used wikipedia for a very long time and the policy for updating info seems to have changed since the last time I did any editing. I work for the Yukon Arts Centre. I saw the original wiki post in passing and saw that the information was minimal. So I just beefed it up not realizing I was breaking the rules. The organization didn't request I make the change. I just did it on my own accord. I got a separate message saying that my username, Yukonarts, has been blocked because the name was deemed to represent a group or organization. The name was picked randomly with no intention of it representing the Yukon Arts Centre. I should probably just refrain from making future edits, so not sure what to do to rectify this problem. Thanks for your patience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.234.48.167 (talk) 16:21, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

@Yukonarts: Please read Template:Uw-softerblock and do what it says.   — Jeff G. ツ 17:00, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

Just notifying you as a courtesy that this article has been restored/de-prodded per User talk:Explicit#REMOVAL OF ARTICLE JOHN J FLOOD POLICE UNION LEADER. As you probably know, you'll now need to take it to WP:AFD if you still feel it needs to be deleted. FWIW, COI issues are not usually considered a good reason for deletion if the subject meets WP:BIO, but I agree with you in that's not totally clear. I only did a very cursory WP:BEFORE, but the first couple of pages of search results didn't really clear things a whole lot. There appear to be multiple persons with the same name which is a bit confusing. I did find this, but I'm not sure what to make of it; it might be OK to support certain bits of article content, but seems insufficient on its own to establish notability. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:53, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

@Marchjuly: Thanks, please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John J. Flood.   — Jeff G. ツ 01:49, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
Understand. Just a suggestion, but it might be a show of good faith to notify JJFCCPA as a courtesy; you did, after all, notify them of the prod. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:32, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
@Marchjuly: Done, but mentioning his username in the AfD should have been enough.   — Jeff G. ツ 02:41, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
My apologies. I didn't notice that you had pinged them in the AfD. After looking at their contributions though, their last edit prior to the de-prod was back in December 2019; so, they don't seem to be a "regular" editor so to speak, but rather only one who occasionally logs in either to edit or check on the status of that particular article. At least now, they cannot come back in a few months and claim nobody notified them of the AfD. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:34, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
Notice

The article Santa Bárbara, Puerto Rico has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Disambiguates three non-existent articles, none of which have incoming links.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. @Cnilep: If no one wants to develop any of those articles, I will not oppose the PROD.   — Jeff G. ツ 04:59, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi there,

Just want to let you know I removed the speedy deletion tag from this draft. A7 wouldn't apply as this is not an article in the mainspace, and I would disagree the draft in its current form was so unambiguously promotional such that G11 would apply. Please let me know if you have any comments. Thanks. --Dps04 (talk) 16:39, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

@Dps04: Sorry, I get jaded sometimes.   — Jeff G. ツ 18:43, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
@Jeff G.:, no worries it's just a gentle reminder :) --Dps04 (talk) 04:04, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

POLICE UNION LEADER JOHN J FLOOD

My name is John J Flood and my name is on a Wikipedia page

It has been brought to my attention that the entry might be deleted

Be advised that I have a national reputation as a police union labor relations leader and expert on organized crime in the United States.

Considered as one of the founders of police union labor movement in the United States of America

Any person - student of college or university police administration curriculum would be missing police unionization history should such miss a search upon the name

This posting of my history was not placed upon Wikipedia by I - but I have been cognizant of its posting by students who advised finding the information on this website

I am not computer astute and no longer employ a staff that would have such expertise - so unable to be aware of problems as to this police information and the name being on Wikipedia

Should there be any questions I can be contacted directly by phone at the below number

Thanking you for your attention to this matter and awaiting your reply, I remain

Creating pages on Wikipedia

Hi,

I have created 2 pages on Wikipedia as I am a football fanatic and proud to be Welsh.

I have created 2020-21 Cymru North and 2020-21 Cymru South. I also, want to do the four new tier 3 leagues that will start this year.

I am Denevs74 and I don't have a user page. How do I go about creating this as I have one a lot of editing over the years?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Denevs74 (talk) 22:30, 27 July 2020 (UTC)

@Denevs74: Hi, and welcome. You can just go to User:Denevs74 and start making it, as you would an article, subject to the WP:USER guideline.   — Jeff G. ツ 22:52, 27 July 2020 (UTC)

Miss Connecticut Teen USA page

Hello Jeff, I think I finally figured out how to use the messaging service. Hope you receive my message. Recently, I made changes to the page "Miss Connecticut Teen USA" because I saw an issue with the content. When you Google "Miss Connecticut Teen USA", it comes up with the correct name of Samantha Sarelli but with the wrong photo. That is not Samantha. So what I did was tried to add the correct photo. I was just trying to make sure her content on social media was all correct. I was not trying to advertise in any way. I hope you understand where I am coming from. I tried to attach a a Google screenshot of the page but was not allowed to do so. Please correct the photo. Thank you for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Characters2020 (talkcontribs) 20:20, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

@Characters2020: Thank you for that info. Did you snap photo File:Miss Connecticut Teen USA 2020 Samantha Sarelli.jpg?   — Jeff G. ツ 20:33, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
