Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Major Arena Soccer League, and I noticed that your username, "Jeffh MASL", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username, by completing this form, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Tom Danson (talk) 06:35, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the note

[edit]

Thank you for the note. I believe that my username does meet the guidelines as I have identified myself (Jeffh) and identified that I represent the MASL. The editing I did to the page simply removed incorrect information and replaced it with current factual information. I don't believe the information entered was biased in any way, but I am open to discussion if you feel otherwise. Again, thanks for the note and please do let me know if there are any other issues with our edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeffh MASL (talkcontribs) 15:43, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The fact that you represent the league displays a clear conflict of interest, as the league's "official" story conflicts with one from a Neutral point of view, backed up by reliable sources (official third-party links confirming your version of events). Again, thank you for alerting me to your concerns. As an official of the league though I would think it would be in the best interest of the readers to have accurate information. There are three sources currently cited to support the case that the MASL used to be the PASL. Two of those links are inactive and the third links to a fan blog that itself does not cite any reliable sources. There is an article from the Baltimore Sun, written by an accredited reporter, establishes 'the creation of the Major Arena Soccer League at a news conference at Canton Dockside restaurant, a 24-team operation that includes teams from the Major Indoor Soccer League and the Professional Arena Soccer League.' It also includes quotes supporting the creation of the new league from Baltimore Blast owner Ed Hale. The link is [1]. Perhaps you could help me correctly cite this information with the changes I made earlier? Thanks! Jeffh MASL (talk) 20:58, 6 July 2018 (UTC) Jeffh[reply]
