Christmas Island Immigration Reception and Processing Centre

[edit]

Hi User:Jefftheref.
I noted with interest your big addition to the Christmas Island Immigration Reception and Processing Centre as per your edit here in April. I took a look and my first though was it was good stuff, but not well integrated into the page as it was, sort of, just 'dumped' at the bottom of the existing content.

  • On closer examination it appears to be largely copied, or very closely paraphrased, from the source/s you provided. See the output from a copyright violation detector program here.

Example:

Your edit version
"The Commission has serious concerns the CCTV cameras breach the right to privacy as well as the right of people deprived of their liberty to be treated with humanity and with respect for the inherent dignity of the human person."
Source version (diffs stuck through)
"The Commission has serious concerns that the CCTV cameras could breach the right to privacy as well as the right of people deprived of their liberty to be treated with humanity and with respect for the inherent dignity of the human person."
  • Only 2 words different.

The source is marked:

"© Australian Human Rights Commission 2012. This work is protected by copyright.Apart from any use permitted under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), no part may be used or reproduced by any process with prior written permission from the Australian Human Rights Commission".

If I am correct, this can't be allowed, and your entire addition will have to be removed and probably also 'revision deleted' from the page history. If re-written in your own words, then it can be re-added, hopefully in a more 'integrated' manner. Regards 220 of Borg 02:39, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
