Feedback from Nicki (Development of the Terrestrial Planets)

[edit]

Hi John, I think your page is off to a great start. It's exciting to see something about Venus when the number of pages out there can be limiting. Your introduction provides a really good foundation for the rest of the article. Here are some possible improvements: (1) The introduction, specifically the first sentence, provides a lot of numbers. This may be better displayed in a box to the right (such as on the Wiki page: Venus, but only information relevant to your article) as compared to one all in one sentence. (2) The first model, Episodic Tectonic Models, would be stronger with citations and linking to other Wiki pages and/or external websites. (3) "Here is a list of models and theories that suggest various internal compositions and resurfacing mechanisms on the planet." could be removed and instead within each model description state which model is the most accepted (as well as least accepted and why). Great so far! You've included a lot of detail in what you've written. - Nicki Button

Hi from the online ambassador

Hello John Tyler

Welcome to Wikipedia, I hope you enjoy your time here and choose to stay. I am an online ambassador for your course, so I will be available to help you out with Wikipedia editing, but not in person. If you want my attention you can email me at Special:EmailUser/Graeme Bartlett or talk to me at User talk:Graeme Bartlett. I am from Australia, in the timezone which is 11 hours ahead of UTC, so I will be awake while you sleep. On the tectonic plate I am moving 24 degrees east of north with a velocity of 54.5 mm/yr and sinking at a rate of 3.5 mm per year. In your draft I would like to see some inline references, so that we can tell where your different facts came from! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:08, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
